    Well, 2 weeks ago I hadn't heard of these guys, now I own four of their albums!

     

    Fantastic bluesy rock....amazing what drums, guitar and vocal can sound like.

    The above is my personal favourite. My youngest (7 years old) whose experience of MJ is purely media driven, idolises MJ and constantly dances around the kitchen to various MJ tunes to try and copy his dance style. I truly hope that the bullsh1t that surrounded him evapourates and all that is left is the music. It is now so difficult to try and know false fact from malicious fiction regarding his life that I tend to disbelieve all of it, good and bad, and purely judge him on what he was .......................

    I like QSO, which other Tru Thoughts artists do you recommend then?

     

    Nostalgia 77 without a doubt. Natural Self, Diesler, Kinny but one of favourites is Beta Hector.

    If you're interested in their style of release I'd recommend their compilations as opposed to individual artists. 'Unfold presents Tru Thoughts Funk' sampler is one of my favourite compilations. Interestingly, Bonobo first released material through Tru-Thoughts before signing to Ninja Tune.

    I did get the deluxe version and my opinion still holds. Sure there is one or two 'hits' but in all honesty I picked up a couple of other albums at the same time and the Shadow LP was the least inspiring out of three buys. :angry:

     

    I may come back to it and give it another go, but I'll not rush.

    Shivers down the spine @ 52 seconds... :D I was waiting for it to break with a dum-da-dum-da-dum-da tsh-tsh but it never came! Didn't SR post this a while ago, albeit without the vocals where it did break? It was a live set I think. I might have to trawl through this thread at some point.

     

    SR did, Shadow played it in his Shadowsphere gig. Lovely track ........

     

    Picked the album up Tuesday and imho, it's a bit of a dud. That particular track unexpectedly doesn't infact break!!!! Big disappointment really but I suppose he may farm it out for remixing. My advice is to sample the LP on spotify and try and pick up any remix EPs of the tracks that suit your taste.
