  1. Had a lot of things going on recently and had to re-evaluate my personal time and the value of visiting this site.

I'm no longer getting involved posting and wasn't expecting to post here again but, after a few sherberts and the impending armageddon *giggles* thought I'd post a couple of tunes that have recently been added by people on youtube that I wanted to post here a while back ........

Harvi is a happy bunny today as i managed to get hold of some Glasto tickets...wahay! Noticed that DJ shadow is playing the John Peel stage on Friday but it clashes with U2's set. Might try to check him out if i get chance

I'm seeing shadow play his set 'Shadowsphere' at the Dome in Brighton. I guess it's what he'll be touring. I'll let you know how good it is and whether it's worth missing. With beardyman supporting though I think I may be bias.

    :-)

  3. I usually have the phones up on 11 when listening to this thread, but played AIW through the speakers. Might give it another go as there was some good stuff on it.

Give it another go. The AVDJ who put this together is fantastically talented. I don't know Disney's version of 'Alice in Wonderland' but he's played alongside the visuals superbly at times. The moment he mixes up Coldplay's ** yacks a little though doesn't know why? ** "Fix You" with ........... well watch it and see ................. but it's the most enjoyable bit of free entertainment I've received for some time and thought it worth passing on.

  4. Soundalike ...................

    (Curtis Mayfield?)

I've joined a street drum band recently and hoping to get them playing this kind of riddim (though we'll probably play about with the components) .................

If anyone's in central London Monday 18th April and wants to have a party we're joining the protest demo's against the abolition of May Day bank holiday.

  5. More punk from the vaults

'Farm for the Future' documentary by the BBC. Saw this about a year or so ago when aired on terrestrial tv in the UK. Well worth a watch for some ideas ...............

Covers the effects of peak oil on food prices and sustainability issues. Feel free to post this video on other threads if you think it relevant ......... I struggled to find a thread suitable so put it here in advance of the new growing season which is now upon us here in the UK.

hmmmm ......... pop? I've got to be honest and say I can I've always looked upon pop with a really pompous attitude. As you get older I suppose you can see the futility and senselessness in such an attitude.

    Anyway ........... pop

  8. Saw Hexstatic play a drum and bass/breaks/electronica AVJ set at Big Chill '03 (?) and very entertaining it was too. All the way through they would drop various uses of film and vocal with the phrase 'Hexstatic' including using a sample of an episode of C4's 'Countdown'. They dropped the Cliff Richard piece and everyone was looking confused at each other believing the set to be finished and the tune was being played as a 'clear-out' tune. Most started to wander off (the intro is perfectly timed long/short enough for maximum effect) and then of course the tune starts to loop and the rush (literally) to get back in was intense. A great gig and experience. :)

It took me 7 years to find the piece online.
