  1. WEIRD !  Good investment, but...

GCM buys a company for 1/6 or 1/7 of its Free Cash flow value, and its stock price drops from C$6.19 to a year low in Aug. of C$4.50, -27.3%

GCM Mining delivers robust PEA for Toroparu gold and copper project in Guyana, with $1.7 billion free cash flow

( Note: GCM bought about 52M shs. On Mar.13th, the day of the T/o announcement the price was C$6.19, x52M = C$321M = US$258M cost for GLDX )

    $1.7B / $258m= ratio 6.58, a gain of 6-fold would be impressive.

  2. GCM.t: Name change* and... PEA announcement...

Lombardo Paredes's Gran Colombia Gold Corp. (GCM) had a good day, adding 10 cents to $5.12 on 778,000 shares on a revised resource estimate and preliminary economic assessment of its Toroparu project in Guyana. The company now lists 185 million tonnes measured and indicated at 1.42 grams of gold and 1.01 grams of silver per tonne, plus 0.097 per cent copper. A further 13.8 million tonnes are inferred at 2.74 grams of gold and 0.4 gram of silver per tonne, plus 0.08 per cent copper.

The company said that the PEA affirms the economic viability of the open pit and underground mining operations at the Toroparu Project.

The PEA assumes total life-of-mine ("LoM") gold production of 5.4 million ounces ("Mozs") representing 88.4% of the 6.2 Mozs of gold fed to the milling circuit at an average grade of 1.78 g/t Au over the 24-year mine life. Average annual gold production is 225,000 ounces over the 24-year mine life.

The copper concentrator will facilitate the recovery of 141.3 million pounds ("Mlbs") of copper over its 19 years of operation, the company added.

According to a press-release, the PEA delivers solid financial results with LoM total revenue of US$8.0 billion, US$3.5 billion of operating margin and US$1.7 billion of after-tax free cash flow. (assumed gold price: $1500)

  3. Source on Trump 2024 'Veepstakes': 'They're All Begging Me'  "

"A lot of times, a presidential candidate will pick a running mate to balance out wings of the party, but with Trump, that's not the issue," pollster John McLaughlin told Politico. "He is the party, basically. It's so united behind him. So his choice, if he runs, will come down to what he wants. It would be a much more personal decision this time."

Trump had maintained supporters "will be very happy" with his 2024 decision, which is not expected until after the 2022 midterm elections next November. Trump has hailed himself as a political outsider, which he can no longer be considered, but he still is not beholden to traditional politics."

"They're all begging me," Trump reportedly boasted to an anonymous adviser, Politico reported. "They all come here."

Some potential vice presidential candidates include former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, Sens. Tim Scott, R-S.C., Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn., South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem, Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds, former acting Director of National Intelligence Ric Grenell, and former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows.

Scott and Pompeo recently interacted with Trump at Mar-a-Lago, sources told Politico.

"It was a really warm interaction," a Republican observer told Politico of Scott's visit. "Scott was appropriately deferential without being gross, like some people are.

  4. Four Big Players who have already beaten Meta

How Mark Zuckerberg's Meta Already Lost The Metaverse

Mark Zuckerberg has just rebranded Facebook as Meta, to focus on the Metaverse. But he's already too late. Here's the Four Big Players who have already beaten Meta and are 1,000x the size of Facebook and Meta in the Metaverse.

ZBOrg wants to EAT THEIR LUNCH to save his stagnating company

His 1992 novel, Snow Crash, published just as the World Wide Web as we know was coming into existence, imagined the online world, or Metaverse, as a virtual gathering place, one where people could adopt new identities that both departed from and expanded on their offline selves. It was a space for invention and reinvention, both technological and social, in which businesses, entrepreneurs, scammers, criminals, and even some relatively ordinary people went to play, make money, find friendship, and generally escape from their offline lives. Although the particulars were different, it functioned a lot like the internet as we know it today.

Stephenson wasn't the first or only science fiction writer to envision something like the internet: In the 1980s, William Gibson gave us the early language of virtual reality in Neuromancer, and, in Ender's Game, Orson Scott Card concocted a future in which online news nets allowed anonymous young columnists working from home to shape global politics—essentially, blogging. Throughout the decade, cyberpunk authors (who are somewhat distinct from the cypherpunks) gave the coming connected world grit, grime, and attitude.

But Stephenson's idea was that the internet would be a place, a virtual space with formal rules and unspoken conventions, somewhere people would go to hang out and spend time, that it would have culture, or rather a lot of cultures, clashing and colliding and mixing with each other, just like people and cultures do in the real world. The internet wasn't just a technology for delivering and organizing information; it was an entirely new world existing in parallel to, and on top of, this one.

And one of the most prominent features of the place was that it would allow you to reinvent yourself; to be better, stronger, stranger, or more powerful than you could ever be in real life. Denizens of the Metaverse took the form of digital avatars—stylish figures that they controlled. Low-quality public terminals made the experience accessible to everyone, but those with the means could pay to upgrade the visual fidelity of their experience, creating a world of high and low culture, and strivers trying to make the leap from one tier of society to the next.

What Stephenson understood before almost anyone else was that the online experience, which allowed for both anonymity and a departure from the physical constraints of meatspace, would upend the idea of a fixed individual identity. Being online meant the possibility (if not the guarantee) of being free to be someone else.

In the decades since Snow Crash, Stephenson's freewheeling, anarchic vision has paid real world dividends, not only in the broad contours of the way it predicted the evolution of the internet and online culture, but in specific applications, especially with regards to virtual reality (V.R.), and its even-more-promising cousin technology, augmented reality (A.R.), which seeks to create a second virtual layer on top of the existing physical universe.

In 2018, Amazon released Sumerian, a platform for the development of A.R. and V.R. software; its name was inspired by Snow Crash, which posts ancient Sumerian as a kind of ancient, biological programming language. In addition to writing novels, Stephenson also works as "chief futurist" for Magic Leap, a major augmented reality startup that has received more than $2 billion in funding. It has long been rumored that Second Life, a proto-social network built as a sprawling, three-dimensional virtual space, was modeled directly on Snow Crash's Metaverse.

  6. the MATHS of Coliving - Some formulas

Right!  This guy brings some MATH into his calculations.  If I get round to looking at an actual investment, I might want to try his formula

How to convert multifamily buildings to COLIVING and increase returns

    His Formulas:

+ Window space matters:  10 feet of window space for each bed

    + Corners reduce maximum BR's

+ Bed to Bathroom ratio, should not exceed 3:1

+ Revenues Do not scale directly with number of bedrooms, because higher density will bring lower rents

  14. GCM lower on Margin squeeze in Q3,

    $5.44 -0.22 -3.9% 5

I call this a "somewhat disappointing quarter":

still, they reported a positive free cash flow and a quarterly profit of US$0.26

TORONTO, Nov. 11, 2021 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Gran Colombia Gold Corp. (TSX: GCM; OTCQX: TPRFF) announced today the release of its unaudited interim condensed consolidated financial statements and accompanying management’s discussion and analysis (MD&A) for the three and nine months ended September 30, 2021. All financial figures contained herein are expressed in U.S. dollars (“USD”) unless otherwise noted.

    • Gran Colombia’s gold production from its Segovia Operations totaled 49,848 ounces in the third quarter of 2021 compared with 51,555 ounces in the third quarter of 2020. Total gold production from Segovia for the first nine months of 2021 amounted to 151,104 ounces compared with 146,278 ounces in the first nine months last year. In October 2021, Segovia’s gold production was 19,456 ounces bringing the Company’s trailing 12-months total gold production from its Segovia Operations at the end of October 2021 to 203,739 ounces, up 4% over 2020. The Company remains on track with its annual production guidance and has narrowed the range to between 203,000 to 210,000 ounces of gold from Segovia in 2021. Including Marmato production up to February 4, 2021, consolidated gold production for the first nine months of 2021 was 153,532 ounces compared with 162,929 ounces in the first nine months last year.

    • Consolidated revenue amounted to $90.7 million and $289.0 million in the third quarter and first nine months of 2021, respectively, compared with $113.1 million and $291.2 million in the third quarter and first nine months, respectively, of 2020. Spot gold prices in the third quarter of 2021 were lower than the same quarter a year ago, decreasing the Company’s realized gold price (1)by 5% to an average of $1,784 per ounce sold in the third quarter of 2021 compared with an average of $1,875 per ounce sold in the third quarter last year.

    • At the Segovia Operations, total cash costs (1)averaged $845 per ounce in the third quarter of 2021, compared with $722 per ounce in the third quarter of 2020, bringing the average for the first nine months of 2021 to $812 per ounce compared with $659 per ounce in the first nine months last year.

    • All-in sustaining costs (“AISC”) (1) per ounce sold for the Segovia Operations were $1,218 and $1,145 in the third quarter and first nine months, respectively, of 2021 compared with $1,031 and $939 in the third quarter and first nine months, respectively, of 2020. The year-over-year increase in Segovia’s AISC in 2021 reflects (i) the increased total cash costs as described above and (ii) an increase in exploration and mine geology, mine development and other sustaining capital expenditures.

    • Adjusted EBITDA (1) amounted to $39.9 million for the third quarter of 2021 compared with $56.7 million in the third quarter last year. This brings the total adjusted EBITDA for the first nine months of 2021 to $134.3 million compared with $144.7 million in the first nine months of 2020. Adjusted EBITDA in the third quarter and first nine months of 2020 included $2.4 million and $4.6 million, respectively, from the Marmato mining operations.

    • Net cash provided by operating activities in the third quarter of 2021 was $26.7 million compared with $68.0 million in the third quarter last year.

    • Free Cash Flow (1) in the third quarter of 2021 was $12.1 million compared with $53.7 million in the third quarter of 2020 bringing the total Free Cash Flow for the first nine months of 2021 to $11.6 million compared with $67.8 million in the first nine months of 2020. In addition to an increased level of sustaining capital expenditures in the current year, non-sustaining capital expenditures in the first nine months of 2021 included $6.8 million at its Segovia Operations associated with the Maria Dama plant expansion, construction of the new polymetallic plant and the brownfield exploration program and $2.4 million to advance the PEA and pre-construction activities at its Toroparu Project.

    • The Company’s balance sheet benefitted from the Senior Notes financing, raising its cash position to $329.6 million and working capital to $331.5 million at the end of September 2021.

    • The Company reported net income of $25.3 million ($0.26 per share) in the third quarter of 2021 compared with $18.0 million ($0.39 per share) in the third quarter of 2020 reflecting an improvement in other income (expense) items and lower income tax expense

    • Adjusted net income (1) for the third quarter of 2021 was $14.4 million ($0.15 per share) compared with $29.5 million ($0.47 per share) in the third quarter last year. A 35,000-metre drill program began in May 2020, following completion of the Marmato Expansion Pre-Feasibility Study (PFS) led by SRK Consulting. The drill program had two objectives: (1) convert Inferred mineral resources to the Indicated category; and (2) test potential areas at depth and along strike.

Between May 2020 and June 30, 2021, results were received for 43 holes totalling 27,737 metres, or approximately 80% of the total program.

The new holes infilled existing drilling in the lower eastern half of the Marmato Lower Mine, converting Inferred mineral resources to Indicated, and expanded the mineral resource at depth and towards the east. The drill results demonstrate continuity of grades and widths and confirm the quality and interpretation of the mineralized zones, currently extending 800 metres vertically from 1,000 metres to 200 metres elevation, and along strike for over 950 metres.

The drill program is ongoing and since June 30, 2021, eight more holes (4,543 metres) have been drilled and a further six holes are in progress.

The Marmato deposit is still open with high-grade mineralization along strike and at depth with opportunities for further growth. Additional drill programs are in the planning stage.

With an effective date of June 30, 2021, the updated mineral resource estimate (MRE) is as follows:

Measured and Indicated mineral resources of 5.8 Moz gold comprised of 56.9 million tonnes at 3.2 g/t gold, representing a 42% increase in contained gold ounces from the PFS MRE; and

Inferred mineral resources of 2.6 Moz gold comprised of 30.8 million tonnes at 2.6 g/t gold, representing an 18% increase in contained gold ounces from the PFS MRE.

... (An earlier version of the Release said they were beginning construction of the new mine):

Construction of the new camp and administrative areas is scheduled to begin in late November 2021 followed by the new portal and decline to begin in December 2021. The Lower Mine project includes a new decline and a 4,000 tonne per day (tpd) processing facility to expand on the existing Upper Mine operations
