Surely this is not the reason why silver has dropped 10% in the last few days? Anyone know why?

Interesting article in Scientific American September 2006. A great Special Issue ' Energy's future beyond carbon' It appears that normal superconductor cables (BSCO) are now being developed that will see a moving away from the use of silver. These new ribbon YBCO cables do not need to be sheathed inside silver. This has always been the main reason why i believed silver to be a great hold for the future but now I'm not too sure, Anyone else have any comments or knowledge of this ( I would type out the whole article but its a bit long) This link gives a flavour though http://physicsweb.org/articles/news/10/7/11/1

HI, Joined today Have interests in MNE and ML gold and general fund. Installed a PV system at home in April which has produced 1750 kwh already. An investment of a different kind you could say! Will look forward to reading more info and contributing where i can. P
