DoctorSolar 0 Report post Posted October 29, 2009 +10 points if you can tell me which modern rock band nicked a melody from this song That would be coldplay. Did they at least have the balls to admit they nicked the melody this time? Or did they just rip off yet another artist to line their own pockets? I think their plagiarism law suit count is now at 4. DoctorSolar 0 Report post Posted October 29, 2009 well done, here's 10 virtual fiat gei points! KACHING! Don't go printing those things up willy nilly mind! We don't want hyperinflation here! i don't know whether they admitted it or not - but it's so blatant! Apparently Kraftwerk gave permission. Wonder if they get any royalties? The band received permission from the electronic music German band Kraftwerk to use the main riff from their song "Computer Love" (German: Computerliebe), from their 1981 studio LP Computer World (German: Computerwelt), for "Talk", replacing Kraftwerk's synthesizers with guitars. HPCsoYESTERDAY 0 Report post Posted October 29, 2009 Apparently Kraftwerk gave permission. Wonder if they get any royalties? wow - i didn't know that; I am used to hearing Kraftwerk inspired synth-pop, but it makes a change to hear their stuff inspiring a guitar band
