Poor Ragged Rascal – December 2010 Mix

To the wall with this glitch hop and hip hop infused dubstep mix…

Click the link above to download the podcast in itunes.

Track listing and website here - http://www.blackmarketfunk.com/podcasts/category/podcasts

Have been following this podcast myself ...................... some great variation in the sets. (Can't remember how I came across it .......................... it may have been through following Ninja Tune. Speaking of which, I'd recommend their affiliated podcast of the solid steel radio show available to subscribe to here . The podcasts are about 6 months behind the actual radio show which can be listened to at www.soundcloud.com (also a fantastic site). Audio visual sets are also sometimes available for download.

Here's a link you may like Pixel8r, similar feel to Black Market Funk podcast.

That's the most recent though there's more from the link page here.

A couple more for now ..............

(Have a play listening to some of the sets here. Much variation and if you wanted to get back into your DJ thing Pixel8r they're often offering slots ........... I damn near put together a set for their Saturday Soul show last year but never found the time to get it together :( )

Anyone into reggae ( ** cue tumbleweed ** ) may want to subscribe to the Big Mikey Dread reggae radio show here.

My eldest seems to be showing an interest in Dubstep. I've passed onto his facebook a couple links showing the history of 'Dub'step and thought as I go along I'd post a small sample of the links I sent to him here. You're gonna hate these ..............

(Words cannot bring justice to what I experienced happening to a crowd upon 3:14. It was both euphoric and violent at the same time. At 4:42 all went mental ................. play loud, very loud!)

An early dubstep tune from 2005 which shows it's true origins.

Takes me back to my very first proper car that I had......a Chrysler Alpine with a massive sound system in it! The ICE was worth more than the car!

I had a Psychedelic Furs EP cassette that i played & played until it just about wore itself out!

Was gonna post this a while back but the sound quality of the tracks on offer was very poor.

Spot the singer that isnt sure if hes Bowie or Lydon....
