Had a bloody heavy month (promotion at work and a new team to get the best out of) and spending this weekend away from all in-depth thought recharging the best way I know how ........................... inspirational music. Posting a lot here and it may bug some but hope you like the links. Otherwise, please excuse my indulgence.

Saw Hexstatic play a drum and bass/breaks/electronica AVJ set at Big Chill '03 (?) and very entertaining it was too. All the way through they would drop various uses of film and vocal with the phrase 'Hexstatic' including using a sample of an episode of C4's 'Countdown'. They dropped the Cliff Richard piece and everyone was looking confused at each other believing the set to be finished and the tune was being played as a 'clear-out' tune. Most started to wander off (the intro is perfectly timed long/short enough for maximum effect) and then of course the tune starts to loop and the rush (literally) to get back in was intense. A great gig and experience. :)

It took me 7 years to find the piece online.

Little while since checked in here, some quality stuff. Little deviation here so hope a few like these, little before my time, but watched a documentary the other night about the bad ass drug crazed rocker's.

Just watched a rerun of that documentary tonight on BBC4 i think. I agree fantastic band...me and a few pals saw them in 1982 and believe me they were every bit as good as reported in the documentary........one of those gigs you never forget!

They dont make 'em like that anymore!...........<sigh>

nice....

and from Jimmy Page, we go direct to the Stone Roses ;)

Driving South Lyrics

The Stone Roses

Driving south 'round midnight, man, I must have been insane

Driving south 'round midnight in a howling hurricane

I stopped for an old man hitcher at a lonely old crossroad

He said "I'm going nowhere

I'm only here to see if I can steal your soul"

"I'm not trying to make you, I don't want to touch your skin

I know all there is to know about you and all your sins

Well, you ain't too young or pretty, and yer sure as hell can't sing

Any time you want to sell your soul

I've got a toll-free number you can ring"

Yeah, that's what I thought he said anyway

"I'm not trying to make you, I don't want to touch your skin

I know all there is to know about you and all your sins

Well, you ain't too young or pretty, and yer sure as hell can't sing

Any time you want to sell your soul

I've got a toll-free number you can ring"

0 800 treble six, oh yeah

0 800 treble six, oh yeah

I stopped for an old man hitcher at a lonely old crossroads

He said "I'm going nowhere

I'm only here to see if I can steal your soul"

He got!
