Nice hook ............. kinda felt myself chanting that to myself today and nodding along with my imgination of the tempo. Nice post. Reminds me somewhat of The Clash which I used to get off to whilst setting fire to things and playing with gunpowder as a mixed up early teenager ....... Though I was young (8 years old) my older best mate played stuff like this to me regularly and I felt exposed to the anger. I remember my parents were so worried my Dad made me take up boxing hoping it would give me some outlet or discipline ................. FAIL ! rofl ! .............. but I guess it at least moulded my view on what the value of 'music' as an art can be and made me steer away from 'pop' culture. One of my favourite bands (which have recently reformed) and major influences ........... I guess on reflection tracks like that would have been overlooked as most eyes were on what was being heavily promoted coming out of the U.S at that time, producers such as Arthur Baker and Jellybean were producing some absolute floor fillers. The only DJ with National coverage in the UK I guess that would have played such stuff would have been the late John Peel (love him or hate him, his coverage was certainly diverse) and it's a shame the role he played hasn't really been filled as BBC programming seems now to avoid multi-genre eclectic DJs.
