Got to match the ACDC choice with this one, only because a very young riggers was in this crowd getting trampled on by many a hairy nean'derthal.....and avoiding the odd thousand plastic bottle of dubious content

EDIT: Played loud still get the fuzzy gig feeling, such was the atmosphere! This is a good quality live track.

......... and seeing as Chris Isaak's audio is disabled on youtube thought I'd post this link to a LA Funk Mob vs Richie Hawtin remix version of "wicked game" which is my preferred version for the car .........

To be honest though I love these old slabs that I still hold in a special place (albeit in the loft!) I now value them for other reasons. As a teenager poppin' and breakin' I was completely unaware of the way these tracks were put together but in later years as hip hop mutated and embraced commercialism these tracks inspired me to investigate so many other genres. From funk to electronica to jazz it has opened both my ears and indeed my mind.

Most (not all) hip hop now seems to be nothing more than adverts for capitalism. A bling consciousness. The people fronting it are working for selling that consiousness. That's what it's about ....... jealousy. Stopping contentment, arousing greed and discontentment for more .... what I've got is better than yours. My milkshake brings all the fellas to my yard and their life is better than yours.

In general terms re the global "rap" (as opposed to hip-hop) industry I would agree but the milkshake reference - sorry that is just taking da milkshake outta context

It's a funny thing, when I was 17 I listened to lots of pychedelia, sometimes whilst under the influence...now I loathe most amplified music. It's also everywhere these days - shops, restaurants, on hold - Spike Miligan noticed it and said it sent him round the bend.

I have become Hans Keller! (now he seems a really interesting person - telly really was quite intellectual then)

All I ever wanted is a place out by the sun

To watch the world go by and take each day as it comes

All I ever wanted was a chance to catch my breath

To see the world go by and lay my ghosts to rest

Now, when you work it out I'm worse than you

Yeah, when you work it out I want it too

Now, when you work out where to draw the line

Your guess is as good as mine

The new material sat in nicely too. If they start touring this gig I recommend it otherwise I think I may have just seen a lucky one off.
