  1. EDIT Following post below: I’m starting to think it was YOU who was beaten as a child - Probably by cgnao*

I won’t engage you any further on this point because I really believe you are lowering the tone.

    * who was also a child at the time

Fortunately I had very good parents who instilled a great deal of common sense - through the example of their own lifes and they way they navigated through it

You are a great poster Ziknik - thoughtful, receptive, adaptable and intelligent.

Why do you defend so obviously someone who offers piecemeal acclamations - no different to David Koresh - no reasoning - no insight - no analysis - no room for error.

    Just straightforward apocalypse.

It should repel anyones mind no matter what the message conveyed.

If you can't stand what I say then please feel free to stick me on ignore. I shan't take offense.

  2. That’s a really low shot.

Put cgnao on your ignore list if you don’t like him.

You are lowering the tone of the forum

    No.

    Absolutely NO!

If I see injustice I will speak my mind.

Cgano represents nothing but people fantasies,

He is to be resisted at all junctures.

    He is a charlatan.

I'm sorry you can't see it.

  3. erm, what's with the reversed 'R' ?? Also I don't understand the slight hostility there.

Arrogance. Arrogance that wouldnt be tolerated or respected beyond the walls of a forum that demands to hear such prophets and prophecies.

EDIT, not too far off with this one, was he?

The man has been off from day 1 of GFC. He had a good case - but he misunderestimated the pulse of life and money - and the people and events that drive it.

Better parents might have made him a better common-sense judge on the course of events. I can only imagine he was beaten as a child.

There are far better posters on this site more worthy of the adulation - like romans hols for one. Now thats a chap I would like to share a pint with.

How many of you would want to share a pint with cgnao.

    ?

  4. Thought Id add a little anecdotal: was speaking to a chinaman (tiawanese actually) in the pub who said he worked in the financial sector.

He mentioned that the chinese government were buying gold - from the IMF and from internal markets. They weren't buying on the international markets because they don't want the price to rise. He said the chinese government were making the move out of treasuries to a degree - but certaintly weren;t looking to rock the boat with the americans.

Would have talked more but I was more interested in getting a smoke in before the karaoke.

  5. Ok, now its serious!

    CID out of:

1oz Gold Eagles (had some this morning!)

    1oz Maples (ditto)

Seem to have got a few older Krugs in today (they were out last night, still 2009 sold out)

1oz Libertad ( had some a few days ago)

1oz nuggets (had some this morning!)

they have got Phillies at £756 - only a £120 markup!)

There is some SERIOUS BUYING going on here in the coin market.

    oh, and no silver kilobars.

They were out of 250g gold bars the other day. Is it me or are the premiums getting larger?

  6. Thanks for the good wishes.

Goal from day 1 was to double our money, tax free, and pull it out for a house/home. That profit has been achieved, so at this stage its most wise for me to bank my profits.

We had more than doubled our money a week ago (as gold hit USD 1000 again), but I then felt it could/would go yet higher after a pull back to the 900-950 region.

But that second assault on 1000 hasn't materialised (PPT simply refused to let it happen!!). And now I also fear we'll have a significant bounce in the stock market, given the stimulus actions/packages thrown at the economy. That will bring down fear, and the price of gold (after all, its the fear component that's push gold up these last many months).

So we may have had a double top in PoG - and there could be a long leg down from here. ...before a second run up to 1500 too late for my house buying plan

If I'm wrong - I'll be able to buy my house anyway (though definitely not rushing into this, as prices will fall much further throughout this year)

If I'm right - I'll buy more gold before the big run up, with earnings and other redirected investments as they mature over next 2 years or so.

The money is now sitting in Sterling, and we'll move it into various 6-12 month maturity blue chip Sterling bonds. I.e., capital is now in same currency as planned house purchase, so we'll be gaining so long as house prices continue to fall - plus will get a further uplift via bond interest and bond capital increase (as corporate bond prices are low just now). Who knows - we may even end up rolling over those bonds into other Sterling bonds, and take out a mortgage in CHF, as that currency is at an all time high vs Sterling. The bond income will then pay the mortgage each month, and we can sell the bond and pay off the mortgage whenever Sterling strengthens again in X years time.

If youve doubled your money and you have enough for a house then I think you are right in bailing out. I'm at that stage now myself.

  7. You should add when RB said that Gold would be produced in particle accelerators.

I wonder if this guy ever got his project off the ground

Dr. Agarwala is under ``enormous pressure and inducements'' from certain agencies and countries to ``sell'' the technology, he says. ``But, I am clear that India should hold the patent from this technology.''

    I bet he was !

  8. Gold now at $979.

It's been an 11 month wait but gold is very close now to a test on four-figures again, IMHO.

If I remember last time correctly, it spiked through $1000 from about 20 dollars below. Well, we are now $20 below. Anything at all goes our way in the markets in the next 24h, then we may breakthrough.

Dolllar was weak when gold hit 1030. Surely GOLD has long since tested the highs?

  9. I don't think I've ever seen the BV Market Board so animated. Not tempted to sell anything though. I'm definitely in buy and hold camp for the moment.

    I thought that too.

I just dumped some BV and bought some physical bars.

I've got an itch telling me we are going through the 1000USD before very long.

I've got another itch telling me the opposite.

Oh, which itch do I stratch !

  10. Hi azazel. Thanks for the advice about coininvest and words of caution about ebay. Do you know if coininvestdirect accept debit cards over the phone so payment can be made immediately and coins sent out? I looked at ATS and they seem expensive. They wanted £510 for 20g bars. I'll go and have a look on the coininvest web site.

I've found CID very good on service.

If you phone your bank and set up a CHAPS payment - the money will arrive the same day in their account.
