Anyone a subscriber to Artnet? Am curious as to current prices on Harrison originals, I did hear about £35k for a commission some 15 years ago.

My brother does some low level investing. For poor artist friends he pays for their materials plus a decent bit over and gets one of their works to hang on his walls. Can be funny, male artist who has been living alone in an isolated place for a few years. Large tree with a circle of flowers either side of the trunk.

Ted Harrison was a school teacher that emigrated to Canada and fell in love with the Yukon. Mainly primary colours and childlike in simplicity.
There is a story about him leaning on the rail of a ferry next to 2 Innuits also watching the sunset.
1st Innuit: Look! A Harrison sky.
Sorry, couldn't figure how to get a larger image posted. Plenty of sites of you google Ted Harrison.

From what I've seen, the depressing stuff like much of Van Gogh falls in a recession whereas 'life is wondrous' works like those of Ted Harrison rises.

IX. Never swap bullion coins for U.S. $20 gold pieces.
I'm curious as to why? Is it just the premium?
A gold Brittania has a face value 50 times that of a silver Brittania. What happens when industry is screaming for delivery of silver and there is a real shortage?
With gold having a high specific gravity it can't be adulterated in such a way that it will pass a SG test unless the price of platinum goes lower than gold, most unlikely. I can see a situation where silver is needed more and more but if the price exceeds that of gold, then gold can be used as a filler by cheats. Again, unlikely that silver price exceeds gold because of their relative SGs.
How close can the gold/silver price ratio get?
