where will the money come from

I'm hoping to buy back in and make more money when they realise that there isn't any more money I just need the heads of states to keep talking positively long enough for gold to drop about 10% then I'll buy back in.

No, I am not sure. I actually don't know what I am doing at all. I am just trying to go with my gut for once. I still have some money in, so if I'm wrong I still make a little more.

It's quite difficult to know what to do. There is a lot of bearish reports on gold. The new high, as I see it is off the back of China being accused of hoarding (and not) and predominantly Greece falling out of the euro. The chinese released a statement saying that they are not hoarding and the french are offering support for greece. On top of that I have been reading about a European monetary fund which will presumably be there to support situations such as that that Greece is going through. So I think that Gold has momentary high here. So I will sell 60% of what I have and buy back in at lower support level.

Probably because it is more of a pound story than a gold story. The dollar price is looking indecisive at the moment.

Good point, thanks for posting that chart. It does tell a good story. Looks like the pound may have some way to go yet!

I have been following the gold price for a few years now. I have some invested, although I don't buy and sell, I just buy when I think it's low and then wish I sold when it was high. When there is a high like this we usually get a month or so of the price increasing, followed by a big drop. I have heard a few say sell in may and go away, but I think it's more like April now. I will probably give it until the end of this month then sell half of my holdings. This isn't a very technical or chartist approach, it's just my relatively short experience in trading.

Also, how comes this board fills up with posts when gold drops and is relatively quiet when gold is rising? In terms of the pound, gold is rocketing

Hi Bubb, didn't lose my temper, neither was I emotionally involved. The poster was suspended [third time now] due to disruptive posting [check out the last few posts], which only distracts the forum from discussing economic matters. Nothing personal in it at all. As a rule, I don't discuss moderation decisions on threads, but since you mention it here....
