  1. It’s like a giant hot air balloon with a massive tear in the side, they are blowing as much hot air into it as they can but they just can’t re-inflate it!!!!

(BTW I was hoping for inflation as deflation means complete collapse and all the problems that will bring)

Denial-it is not just a river in Egypt you know ;) Still on for my $6 silver by year end at this rate :P

  2. No one really knows; flip a coin!

I was convinced by the Gold bulls’ arguments but the recent assent of the US dollar and the fall of gold have perplexed me…

    Would suit me fine.

Guys, help me out here please.

A lower end six figs (Euros) has just arrived in our BV account.

Of course we are itching (not) to commit short-term economic suicide.

It really does look wise to do nothing for a while, monitor closely, (& forget the interest loss).

    You agree?

  3. Gold Bulls `Running for Cover

``No one wants to get into gold now.''

Gold plunged 8.4 percent last week, the biggest drop in 25 years. Gold for December closed yesterday at $816.80 an ounce.

Sometimes you have to accept you've made a bad choice and sell before gold hits under $500.

I heard some economist on R4 talking about the green shoots of recovery appearing and that we should cheer up as the downturn is nearly over, seems nonsense to me but I'm not trained in this area...

  4. Sorry about bringing to the price of gold crashing down, while on holiday last week I bought some gold coins, I suspected getting into gold would cause the price to plummet, I managed to do the same when I got into Telco shares weeks before the dot com bust!

  5. Fed May Postpone `Rapid' Rate Cut Reversal as Payrolls Decline

I'd not heard about any reversal plan; I can only see them reducing rates as far as it's possible to go but they still may not be able to inject new money into the system.

I see a period of inflation ahead and gold benefiting as a safe haven but after will follow deflation, I know governments will try anything to stop that at it will mean those good citizens that courageously got themselves in debt to keep the miracle economy going will get hurt but apart from actually printing money, which would destroy any government’s credibility for a generation, they won't be able to stop it.
