  1. The single biggest factor in why it wont crash imo the Chinese are in this game big time and they are in it to win it As we are always reminded there is only so much available and with over 1 billion now in the queue ............
  2. It usually gets a kick down an hour or 2 before the US market opens got to give the master race the best buying deal
  3. I joined the Glasgow fire service in 1979 stayed for 5 yrs before I was retired on medical grounds (P.T.S.) didnt get a penny in compensation and was never contacted bythe FBU until a few months ago when I e mailed them to ask why ? Well its all a long time ago now and most of your colleagues would have left by now Sorry nothing we can do !! I wasnt after anything but a reply to see their reaction, after all they had 5yrs worth of my union subscriptions to help pay for their Conference hotel bills and beer fund . Treated like shoite then and now and I wasnt the only one. As for the equipment you got to do your job it was laughable and the action plan for the incident you mentioned above doesnt seem to have changed at all
  4. Has anyone on here actually gone gold panning? I havent altho I used to live very close to an old gold mine in Tyndrum (Scottish Highlands) there was talk of them reopening it years ago ,will have to google if they did right heres the latest -http://www.walkhighlands.co.uk/news/tyndrum-gold-mine-may-reopen-soon/0058/ I have been really lucky over the years when it comes to finding gold Had a lorry driving job with Lewisham council and found 2 Victoria sovs when clearing out an empty council flat then I found a gold wedding band in the street in Stockwell found a big chunky mans ring on a train when I worked in the railway got to keep them after no one claimed it back and finally bought a clapped out mini (1965) for £20 (I know £20 amazing) which someone wrote off one night but my sadness turned to joy when I found a gold ring with a 2 peso Mexican coin mounted in it Unfortunately I sold the sovs for £60 each when I was skint must be 20 yrs ago now but I still have the rings tucked away with my bullion so back to the original question anyone done any panning ? and has anyone been lucky finding bling bling ? just curious
  5. Have you used these guys? http://www.proaurum.de/ I have'nt but their prices look very reasonable cheers will investigate further
  6. just checking the difference between cid and bairds on price and the cheapest sov I can find is£143 (cid) against £159 (bairds) thats quite a difference especially when buying a few at a time 11 sovs and some change for the same price as 10 I usually buy from my bank in Germany (Sparkasse ) who are usually cheaper than either those 2 but recently they have become more expensive than cid Its worth shopping around imo
  7. Oh thanks I must give credit to the teachers tho
  8. sell gold and buy $$$'s ? then rebuy gold when it hits its new bottom ? I really dont have a clue thats why I need you guys to tell me whats really going on I was under the impression that the next time it breached the $1000 mark it would be here to stay ,but there is no accounting just how far Bernanke and co will go to manipulate the market If it drops again I'm in for some more If it keeps rising I'll just count my blessings I've already got some
  9. smug mode ! only downside is I wish I had bought more at $750 ah well - cheers guys
  10. I dont post much on this forum mainly because I have very little expert knowledge on the subject although I do read it intensely and am learning a great deal Just wanted to thank all the contributors for sharing and doing so in such a polite and considerate manner I also at times visit HPC as I notice a few on here also do It really is the absolute pits in comparison keep up the good work boys and girls ,your forum is a pleasure
  11. the whole thing is a set up so the Americans can buy gold at low prices in$$$$ terms while the rest of us are paying more for the stuff with our trashed currencies It will also shake the bottle merchants into cashing in ,in a panic. Once all the Americans (the ones that matter) have swapped their worthless paper for shiny shiny the price in real terms will escalate until the Americans (the ones that matter) can swap them for the latest bubble fiat fad there are NO US coins available at coininvest I wonder why? unlike the majority on here my PM holdings are restricted to 2 krugers and a 500g bar of silver which is basic survival rather than hedging my savings or even looking at a life changing profit so I guess I can be a little more blaise regardless of the price it drops to I am however very glad I have the physical in storage I am quite convinced of the arguement for having it sit back and enjoy the ride oh and good luck

  14. cheers guys I thought the downturn was linked to catalytic conversion production if it gets cheaper than Au I'll get some meanwhile I'll stick to Krugers I also like the price of silver at the moment although I can only get bars over the counter from my bank and the difference in VAT rates (germany) 19.5 as opposed to 7% for coins has put me off
  15. Platinum? $996 against gold at $910 Is this not a better buy ? considering it hit $2300 in the past is it not ALWAYS worth more than gold
