  1. These must have been the first bands I followed when I was youngster .................

Same here - great memories and great times. Madness were always 'my' band whilst I grew up listening to my older brother (by 6/7 years) play Slade, Sparks, T-Rex etc and then later The Stranglers, Joy Division etc. My father would sometimes play his Jean Michel Jarre (probably bought that because of our French friends!) and Abba albums so I think there was a great influence of different music types at an early age.

I saw Madness for the first time last year - awesome, one of the best times I've had.... Aswad were the support group if you can call them that. Very uplifting - I bought their new album which is ok as well. Night boat to Cairo is one of my favouites - a unique song and I also love Bed and Breakfast Man which is one of their early songs, but can't remember it being a single (and I did buy everything they did back then!) although it had a video.... strange.

If Dr.Bubb ever visits this thread again he might want to listen to this band's music and lyrics. It vocalises and explains very well the mindset of the 'idle'.

(Saw them play Brixton on their re-union tour (minus Jerry Dammers who for me was the Specials) and nearly got into a ding dong with a group of blokes who were trying to intrude upon my dancing space. It was a gig I was both lucky to see and unlikely to see again was NOT going to give way to them and by Christ was I going to enjoy it!)

The 2-Tone era along with early hip-hop introduced me to so many genres of music. Thought I'd also pay a quick little respect here to the Streetsounds Electro series and it's influence within the UK..............

Geat song - sounds like you had a top night just like I did..... those blokes were not skinheads then ;)

Just a thought, but I wonder if DrBubb went to any of the clubs in Detriot back in the day where techno was evolving

  2. me too.....

I would love to see a few of the good 'ol posters on here again, Pluto, cgnao & of course swampy. ;)

    on a seperate note......

Ron Paul asks for Audit of US gold reserves....

"Texas (Kitco News) -- U.S. Rep. Ron Paul , R-Tex., plans to introduce a new bill next year that will allow for an audit of US gold reserves, he told Kitco News in an exclusive interview."

"Though Paul did not say whether there is any truth to claims that there is no gold in Fort Knox or the New York Federal Reserve, he said, “I think it is a possibility.''

ok it's not exactly 'breaking news' but if the right people keep pluggin away. You would think the FED would commision an 'expose' live to show/prove all the naysayers wrong wouldn't you?

They are enjoying their lifes not messing about trading they have secured their wealth how many times can you say PURCHASE PHYSICAL GOLD TO PROTECT YOUR FINANCIAL FUTURE.

Thats far to difficult for some to grasp by some of the posts over the last few days.

Oh yes we would ALL like to see your little chum Swampy back on here, especially DrBubb - been to see him recently have you?.

I must say, it's quite a double act you two have going - you both timed your return to GEI at the same time with perfection. I'm really looking forward to reading more of your posts and taking my knowledge of gold to new levels.

  3. nice to see I made such an impact on you though catflap, as you clearly still remember me. :DB)

I haven't posted for absolutely ages? & did so purposely to show that I could & that I clearly wasn't a 'troll'

even though certain posters kept putting statements up about me etc........hopefully I have proven my worth in that regard & will continue to do so.

other people's over-inflated egos you say.......

Funny how you keep coming back when you announce to all on here that you are are leaving - the gold thread is now the sandpit for toddlers again. No point in posting anything useful anymore as it's a waste of my time whilst there are trolls and wind-up merchants around.

No, I don't have an over-inflated ego - I just put forward the opposing view on here when I believe others are wrong on the market and try to make sure this site doesn't get trashed and turned into HPC2. Otherwise there's no point in sticking around....

  4. I like your analysis, but not the way you just treated fitkid, maybe you should stick to what you're good at. If anyone's set a bad tone, it was you.

Anyone that trolls the forum and posts ranting garbage along with a load of irrelevant pictures or videos deserves what they get. We've been here before if you remember - not just once but three times involving GOM and fitkid trashing the forum and winding people up. Don't understand why you feel the need to back him up and accuse me of setting a bad tone - from my posts you'll probably see that I'm a reasonably mature and well balanced individual with a lot of interests and unique insights. I predicted the gold peak in June to the day/to within a day weeks before it happened and said that gold was likely to bottom in July not August - what is it exactly that you find so useful about fitkids posts that makes you so protective of him?

To be quite honest, I'm getting tired of all this - I did a long and detailed post to yourself a while back that you appreciated after you made some prickly comment. Now I think I won't bother anymore..... I just don't have time for this childish b***ocks anymore or for dealing with othe peoples (not directed at you btw) over-inflated egos. I stopped posting on the main board of HPC a few years ago to get away from these muppets.......

    Have a good day.

  5. Gold Bears Are Wrong, Smart Money Isn't Selling

As soon as I started reading what you had posted I realised it was Toby Conner's work - I have his website in my signature and I find his work on the stock market and gold backs up my own thoughts. He's completely right on the dollar as well, as I have been arguing when so many think the dollar is now in a new bull market and going even higher. It isn't and the fundamentals just don't support that argument either - the dollar IS going to break it's 2009 lows and re-test the 2008 lows in Q1 next year, either holding those or dipping into the 60's.

  6. Off on my holidays now and when I return I've got to re-evaluate how I use my free time. This is a thread I've particularly enjoyed more than any other. In some ways I've probably learned more about you all as individuals here than on any other thread and I thank all for their contributions. Thought I'd post a few that should have been posted here a long time ago ............................

  7. Great guy, not heard of him before and I agree with what he says about markets not being random and moving with a certain momentum which enables you to calculate into the future. I also try and not pay attention to the news and just focus on the technicals, but it's rather boring not to have any stories (even when you know when the news fits the market, not the other way around).

I've back-tested my work on the S&P and it did predict the July and October 2007 tops accurately which is why I'm confident of an August 27, 2010 top by this work (not my K-wave theory which now says Setpember 3, 2010) and then a new bear market.
