Green Award for Brad Pitt’s Housing Project

US Green Building Council awards the builders of “the largest and greenest single family community in the world“

Brad Pitt has been presented with an award in acknowledgement of the green credentials his housing project in New Orleans has. The BBC wrote this morning that the actor revealed at Bill Clinton's Global Initiative summit in New York that the project has “exceeded my expectations”.

His Make It Right organisation constructed 13 homes in an area of the city that had been ravaged by hurricane Katrina in 2005. The houses all contain environmentally friendly features such as green roofs, which cut the cost of heating and help to keep the homes cool during New Orleans’ warm summers.
