  1. Hmm.... move on 11th Feb ASX and AIM release on the ASX Trading halt and "The Company advises that negotiations are continuing in relation to a potentially significant transaction..."

Now a cynic might also think there is an element of teasing the AIM price higher, surely not to get a placing away? On the other hand it could be one final piece of whatever significant news remains to be completed that will transform the company.

Have to say the dual list difference intrigues me here.

Hiya - time will tell but recent experience on other stocks suggests AIM price moves might reflect news leaking out. Although my AIM stocks are mostly moving downwards for now.

  2. despite the text and nature of the site, my eye is drawn to the final result - I note no change on the totals or a slight increase. Hence waiting for Comex default may take more years, one is best off looking at fundamentals........ or charts(?)

While the CME is now reporting inventory levels to 3 decimal places, strangely enough- once again, NO MENTION FROM THE CME OF THE MISSING 1.4 MILLION OUNCES OF REGISTERED SILVER THAT SIMPLY DISAPPEARED IN THE AFTERMATH OF THE MF GLOBAL BANKRUPTCY!

  3. Had a great day out at the weekend, nothing like a decent event being free to add to the enjoyment factor

Musical Youth - remember them, celebrating their 30th Anniversary (2 original band members present), not bad at all

Musical Yout' was followed by some human beat boxers and then a fella in drag trying to organise a world record in the okie kokie - sorry cant be bothered to correct spelling. Took the little one, she enjoyed that bit! Told her it was her first rave (at 5 years old):D Still there were other child friendly activites.

Apparently the RAGGA TWINS were supposed to be there - a good ole underground act from back in the day but didnt see them, however event was over 2 days.

held at new venue / park:

  4. Dont watch this thread often so apologies if has already been posted - dont think the Chairman in question expected this to be circulated round the blogshpere !!

Gary Gensler, Chairman of the CFTC on “Was Information Leaked on CME Silver Margin Hikes?”

We have long been befuddled by the trends in commodities where we will see a sudden drop in the prices of Gold and/or Silver right before an announcement is made regarding an increase or decrease in the margin requirement........

With that in mind, we have wondered if there is some level of leakage of when margin requirements will be changed that allows for people to front run this information. As I recently attending the Bloomberg Market’s 50 Summit in New York, I happened to run into the Chairman of the CFTC, Gary Gensler. I asked him about this and have uploaded the audio for you to hear his response.

It is a very interesting point that he makes about Governmental vs. non-governmental data release. Almost as if it’s the wild west when it comes to non-governmental (Price Discovery) information i.e. crop reports, margin requirements, etc….

Is he actually saying: If someone wants to leak that data for price discovery then by all means? I suppose the question really should be: do people who have positions on in whatever particular market they are trading in get notices prior to releasing it to the public? Meaning, that those with positions in the index or commodity have the ability to trade first prior to the public knowing about it.

  5. I recently saw someone sitting outside Starbucks in Wimbledon reading the book 'Free Capital' and almost wandered up to ask him what it was about (very unlike me). Having later wandered into the bookshop "Waterstone's" I saw 'Free Capital' in the business section and thought it looked interesting, so I purchased it.

Hi and welcome. As it happens I know Wimbledon quIte well but dont frequent Starbucks.

  6. Hi Everyone,

I'm new here, and apparently the protocol is to post on this thread, as my first post, the reason I gave for wanting to be a member. I'm feeling well-behaved today, so here goes:

"I'd like to be a member of GEI because I'm an active investor and I reckon I could both contribute new ideas and learn myself from others. I write on fool.co.uk and stockopedia.co.uk using the name SirLurkalot."

There it is. I'm looking forward to reading all your wise thoughts, and gradually joining in to add a few modest ones of my own. More later!

    Hi SirL and welcome

I lurk a bit on TMF and a couple of the others and recognise your name.

Feel free to make yourself at home.

  7. I managed to grow some stawberrys this year. Not a great success but my first season. Typical as soon as I grow some, our little terror decides she doesnt want to eat strawberries any more  Fetch the belt........

    Need a greenhouse me thinks.

Also have to find a good use for the various herbs I managed to grow. Mrs is a great cook but shows little interest in our little patch. Any tips on uses of herbs greatly appreciated. Cooking not my strong point.

  8. Hi All

Suddenly rememebrs I went to some real dodgy clubs when I was younger. The (worst) best clubs of course played these back to back. Also back in the day these tunes would have been considered fast. . Hmmm these might be an acquired taste. Am probably giving out the mistaken impression of being an AliG wannabe   . Good thing about London is lots of different culture. oh well maybe I had too many beers tonight

Damn this board only allows 2 media files at a time ?

  9. Other reasons to join GEI (as if you didnt already know)

Although No6 & DrBubbs diaries are in the public domain it is surprising what you can learn if you ask questions. A chance to join in the conversations.

Chance to contribute to the best of you tube + best of you tube music threads!

    Non gold/silver bugs also welcome.

Bubb it might help if you state that all are welcome and one does not necessarily have to have a degree in economics etc. Feel free to delete this last comment if you diasagree etc.
