Whoo, I think that's a new high!
hello again £650......we've been expecting you
-
Not just gold, FTSE's gone straight down too. The jobs report? http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=206...id=a6MO1rAhPYGA
come on suckers, sell your shares and buy gold....you know it makes sense
-
another Friday smackdown attempt, these guys are just sooo predictable
-
you tell your missus you have gold?
I've buried mine where the divorce lawyers will never find it!
We're talking 6 figures here, so she was bound to notice !
back to my dialema..........surely gold and silver will not be the ONLY performers in an economic crisis? where are the truly smart people parking their wealth?
-
What is the matter with more physical Gold or Silver? Thats what I have done with my house money.
If the UK does an Argentina you gold will do a least a ten bagger, so no worries...
All the signals are flashing red I know, but seems risky going all in on metals. I know some of you are and hats off to you for having golden balls. (How'd you explain that one to the missus?)
Having said that, I did order another 100oz of silver last week

I am not sold on this big crash in PMs, I think we will be on for a minor correction then off to the races. The Chinese should stop the price being taken down too far. I can't bring myself to trust any fiat at the moment, there are too many problems in the world.
Thought I was being prudent having 50% Physical and 50% NS&I Index Linked, but now increasingly worried Uk might do an Argentina and I kiss goodbye to the bonds - of course, my PM's should at least double in this scenario......anyone suggest any better alternatives to UK bonds? (cash in the bank is NOT an option)

I'm about 90/10 gold/silver at present, but thinking of increasing my silver holding, especially as the price has hardly moved in £ terms compared with last year when I bought most of what i have
Can someone remind me where silver fits in if we do end up on a gold backed world currency ? thanks
-
I'm actually swapping some paper gold for physical (my first).
Views: small bars (20g, 50g) or coins?
If coins: sovereigns or krugers?
(UK Citizen, pay CGT)
pretty sure sovs are CGT free, as are Britannias

no rockets please!
(maybe just a Homer Simpson style 'W'hoo ?)

any of you guys ever sold coins to CID? I'm thinking of selling a few to fund a trip this summer. They stipulate I would be responsible for shipping and insurance (obvoiusly) but I'm wondering who to use for this service and what will it cost? I'm talking a couple of dozen coins with a current value of approx 6k....

£614 tonight, more to do with the falling pound though........
anyone else missing cgnao's posts? he's not posted for nearly a month now, what's going on - we should be told!
(Daddy Bear over on HPC has a remarkebly similar style )

well I can still see my order history and address (even after I asked for history to be removed). Whilst I accept the possibility of someone else getting access is low (it happened to SotT!), it is somewhat of a black-swan if it were to happen.
I am not using them till they delete my order history. Call me paranoid.
I've also asked them to delete all my transaction history. They've just phoned again to say their IT have been through all accounts and mine was the only error (hmmmm?)
Shame really as I was happy with their service until yesterday.
-
Jeez, that is scary. I have just deleted my address from their site. Let me/us know if there is a resolution to this: I will have to suspend dealings until there is an explanation and a fix.
Shame: the sales are ON
following my panicked email, got a call from one of their directors at 9pm last night telling me they were investigating and will let me know how it happened....in the meantime, they've pulled the on-screen proof of ID / address facility for everyone.
-
The feature comes in quite handy. But if they really screwed up your account you should get at least 1oz silver for free!
lol, I'm holding out for at least 10 ounces if we're talking compensation. Just written a stinking email, will await their response. At least the guy had the decency to phone me up and let me know, just hope he was the only one....
-
***WARNING*** to all CID users
they've added extra features (dashboard etc.) that shows account activity, ID info etc.
just got a call from a bloke I dont know from adam who says he's got all MY account info on his login !! WTF?!!
Sounds like they've fucked up big style, I wonder who else has got all my details??????
are they open Saturdays?, I need to kick some ass
-
I dont know why CID have such a large premium on 100g gold bars. Its cheaper to buy 5 x 20g or about the same price as 20 x 5g! Bairds are cheaper for bars. I might buy some nuggets. https://www.coininvestdirect.com/main.php?a=11&id=5 Do they come in capsules?
when I got half a dozen nuggets from them, they came in individual plastic cases

looks like dawn in that picture..., let's hope its not a false one....
This is Houston. All systems are GO for ignition. -
I ordered a couple of small bars from Barids on Saturday night using the website. I’ve got an email from them today.
The price has gone up (they haven’t held the Saturday night price). Is this normal? It’s only a few pence, but it’s the principle of the matter.
And
They want the money within 3 days or they will change the price. How is it possible? BACS is 4 days as standard. I’m at work now and can’t pay within office hours today so I have lost a day already
should've gone to

Just about to sign a new rental deal for a better quality, larger house +15% sq ft increase, off a private drive, country views, etc. At current house prices it is effectively moving 200K GBP upwards in price to a house that I could not afford the mortgage on. 8% overall increase in rental price from our last centre of village rental but the Landlord has dropped 13.3% from the price that he was previously getting. The agent informed me of another very large property in the nearest town which has just had a decreased of 30% to get someone in to rent it.
Look out below
I can vouch for falling rents - re-negociated mine down 25% from this month, landlord has other properties vacant and all reduced by similar amount, so he didn't have a leg to stand on !

$973 down 18...smackdown.
I wonder if this corresponds with CGNAOs warning?
is that the best they can do?

A must listen, BBC radio 4 today program. Stephen Bell and Liam Galagar argue inflation or deflation. Forward to 2:48.

I knew Oasis would turn shit when Liam started taking an interest in economics. Oh hang on, they were always shit..

Bother, nearly sold a lot of gold/PM stocks yesterday into sterling. Didn't. Is this the start of a considerable correction in sterling and POG? Or just a brief blip?
look at it as an opportunity to add to your physical !
can't understand sterling strength at the mo, what changed ??
-
The rest is in physical tucked away in a safe deposit box.
please tell me its not in a bank?
-
does this take into account the gold content? most of those are only 90%
AFAIK, CID quote the gold content, not the coin weight (I've questioned them on this before)
