  1. Ive been away for a month guys, what gives? I became a little weary with work stresses and expenditure problems...

So is this a mass delevaraging//margin call? Whats behind Gold dropping....and more importnatly what do we think of share prices...im still heavily in BP and a few others...

  2. Pix, what is your issue with Bubb sharing his ideas? Have you not discussed swapping Gold to silver and back within Goldmoney accounts...could this not be misinterpreted by a novice also? Could the ramping of precious metals also be seen as dangerous, if one were to be picky? One would hope that most people on this website implicitly understand the need to DYOR with regard to any 3rd party views. Surely the point is to discuss, share and interrogate ideas for the benefit of the whole?

  3. I am naturally cynical of these types of things. My mother had a penchant for them, however I found them exploitative. Having said that, one can be cynical and open, so I would be interested to see what info this thread produces. I was dismayed to see on his website that there are certain free videos, and then some premium videos for further added depth.

Personally, I would rather read some Buddhist texts.

    Ah well.

  4. GF, I would be interested to hear what you think of this fund (i dont know enough about individual Miners)

Blackrock Gold and General fund. I avoid the initial charges via Hargreaves Lansdowne on Blackrock and the annual charge is 1.75%.

  5. Im not follwing whats going on here...can anyone explain in laymans terms? From my limited understanding, margin calls are when a bank requests capital...are we saying that speculators are borrowing to invest in Gold?

Apologies, Im trying to learn..bear with me!

  6. Evenin Gents.

    Its been a while. Ive been focusing on my career to build up a reasonable enough drip feed into investments. Its a dirty word I know, but I want to get into residential investment in order to diversify my income. I also hope to reduce the hours I spend in the office and turn my focus elsewhere. I have a couple of Q's which I hope will stimulate discussion;

Never time the market - it feels like we are nearing the bottom. What are your thoughts on the factors facing the UK housing market. I know the returns I can make in the current market...but the whole macro inflation/deflation issue confuses me...what are your inf/def ex[ectations and what effect might they have on the housing market?

    >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Are You Ready?

Have you put your financial house in order?

Suppose an emergency bank holiday is declared. After two weeks, banks re-open and GBP is devalued by 90% or more. Pump petrol prices skyrocket to 10 pound or more, not to mention food and other vital items.

How would you cope? What would you do?

Think I am crazy? I do hope I am.

    Protect yourselves.<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

I don't know what to make of this post but I respect cgnao posts. It would be arrogant for humans to think that there will never be a war as destructive as the second world war as we now have nukes. Similarly there will never be a crisis like 1929 again? Think again! Does anyone object to me copying his posts here, at least the most significant ones?

I wouldnt be sucked in by that hyperbole...its just attention-seeking. cgnao is very good at digging out worrying info and disseminating it, though he undermines his credibility with these baseless posts. Shame really.

  8. I didnt know this

    From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nathaniel_Philip_Rothschild
