  1. Not sure what you mean. It's Sterling that plunges, gold is just doing fine. So, you exchanged something fine for something that is in a freefall and just paper anyway. I wouldn't call this "taking a profit." I would call this "making a financially disastrous decision." Oh,well.

  3. DOUBLE POST: Frizzers on some interesting patterns in the price of gold (more evidence of manipulation?). Good stuff. Gold is shifting from West to East – along with the balance of power http://www.moneyweek.com/investments/preci...gged-14501.aspx
  4. No, Rand is doing nothing. Someone is withdrawing bars, that have incidently been produced by Rand. Most likely this is just cgnao cleaning out the vault.
  5. Gold is not expensive. Gold is dirt-cheap.
  6. The problem I have with the Panda is that it looks cute. But gold as bullion is not cute, it's business. So, an Eagle or a Maple or the Queen on it is preferable in a way (to me). But I gave my wife a Panda pendant some time ago.

  11. Oops. Biggest crash EVER! And not over at all yet.
  12. Just click on the Mark Owen-buys-Dubai ad here on GEI. I cracked up when I saw it. This guy is financially doomed.
  13. We have a cat in our flat, a flat cat so to speak. But the entrance door to our cat flat has not really a cat flap for the flat cat. That's crap.
  14. The face of the property precipice (no 'ladder' in sight anywhere...).
  15. Good idea. Where I work we have several bets running on houses, gold etc. A few have already been settled. I was on the winning side of gold below £300 in 2008, or so.
  16. Let's put it like this: the guy has possibly some proper knowledge of statistics. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kalman_filter
