  4. My eldest seems to be showing an interest in Dubstep. I've passed onto his facebook a couple links showing the history of 'Dub'step and thought as I go along I'd post a small sample of the links I sent to him here. 5. Have been following this podcast myself ...................... some great variation in the sets. (Can't remember how I came across it .......................... it may have been through following Ninja Tune. Speaking of which, I'd recommend their affiliated podcast of the solid steel radio show available to subscribe to here . The podcasts are about 6 months behind the actual radio show which can be listened to at www.soundcloud.com (also a fantastic site). Audio visual sets are also sometimes available for download. Here's a link you may like Pixel8r, similar feel to Black Market Funk podcast. http://www.tru-thoughts.co.uk/inc/files/Unfold_0901_128.mp3 That's the most recent though there's more from the link page here. A couple more for now .............. http://www.purple-radio.co.uk/ (Have a play listening to some of the sets here. 6. From: From: (The use and execution of the 'Peter & the Wolf' on this is inspired) From: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wMlgLnCS4WA From: Probably a little bit too "cuckoo" for most here but hell ............... the world's most skilled DJ Q-bert (banned from entering high profile competitions as no-one else came close and him winning was becoming a bit of a given) gets his opportunity to indulge in visualisation of his art. Further parts are available from a youtube search of wavetwisters. From: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Rh0M-B2PcM

  12. The 'In Tune and On Time' DVD is like that all the way through. It was the tour promoting Private Press and profiles a lot of Shadow's earlier recordings (Groove Robber's, Blackalicious, UNKLE and associated work). It's got good visuals too. I'd recommend a purchase.
  13. There are exceptions. *ahem* From: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AHRE5dyDKTA I'll spare you David Bowie's song about laughing gnomes.

  18. I've got to say SR I have a bit of an aversion to 'guitar' music but that sepultura track kicked me square in the plums, exactly how I like to be introduced to a tune. Good stuff! Doing some digging this evening and thought I'd post some old fun stuff .......................... courtesy of Prince Buster (Prince of the rocksteady bluebeat) From: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bK1v9ZdzlaQ Everyday him carry bucket to the well, one day the bucket bottom must drop out! 20. I've heard that a 'full' hedge of blackthorn and holly serves well to keep out unwanted intrusions. There are disadvantages as they do attract butterflies and thus may mean an increase in caterpillars but on the upside, it does create a great natural home for many hedgerow dwelling animals and supplies you with sloe's to make gin. Just be careful when cutting as the thorns are evil!
  21. That's all very well Riggers and one trip I may consider ........... I didn't ask for this task, it was laid upon me in truth, but I guess I might as well do it well. From: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v5ruDqdZn_s ................... and ride her till she's 41.
  22. My wife's 40th coming up and to make sure the DJ dont spoil the party (concerns of Peter Andre's 'Mysterious Girl' ruining a perfectly good dancefloor) I've been told to make suggestions. Well, apart from getting up there and doing it myself (oh no no no no way on this earth, I'm gonna be drinkin') I've been making a desired playlist (so far have listed up to 62 tracks and counting) and I thought I'd post a couple here to get some opinions. Remember, 40th birthday party so age range between 13 and 60-odd ................... probably a load of blokes there too who'd've been dragged out screaming and kicking by their wifes/girlfriends. Want to keep all happy. What ch'all reckon ? Would these be good to sneak in? From: From: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oIfxBthfFkg From: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dHkb22bJYs8 -one of the wife's favourites - I'd have preffered "Get off" myself From: From: Lol ......... probably just ask him to play the original. I'd not want him during the opening 30 seconds thinking his equipment had gone wrong
