It was thanks to your posts that I posted them. They got me in the mood/zone and sent me off on an evening's journey tbh. Ended up watching this ...........................

A bit musical, a bit philosophical, a bit bloody weird to be honest. First part above but the whole movie can be viewed in 8 parts.

An hour long AV Mix set with both humour (including an uprockin' Prince Charles) and a tracklist ranging from DJ Shadow to the Beatles.
Enjoy :-)

Just spent a pleasant evening in the company of SR and friends watching the heritage orchestra play with UNKLE. Fantastic evening .

The new material sat in nicely too. If they start touring this gig I recommend it otherwise I think I may have just seen a lucky one off.

Doing a bit of a clearance and came across these. Probably not of interest to anyone here but a few tunes that hold memories for me. Apologies and advance warning of bad language/philosophy throughout.

Beans from last year grew back. Instead of taking them up, I left a couple of the withered plants in the ground and they started to grow again.
Last year I got approximately 8 lb (3.9 kgs) of beans from one plant. This year I reckon it'll be nearer 15 lbs of beans from one plant as I am encouraging the one plant to grow up as many poles as possible.
If you could keep me updated here I'd be interested to know how this second season crop of beans eats. Last year I used some seeds (white lady) left over from the previous year's purchase of seeds and found most of the crop incredibly 'stringey' and though nutritional value was probably unchanged they were virtually inedible, especially for my kids. I have been trying to identify the cause to avoid a repeat. Though obviously the scenario is different I'm still interested to know whether the age of the plant also has an adverse effect on the crop. Thanks in advance.
e2a I believe SR had a similar problem with beans last year and I'd be interested to know if he's made any alterations this year.

....... and to take it right back to the old school ................

To be honest though I love these old slabs that I still hold in a special place (albeit in the loft!) I now value them for other reasons. As a teenager poppin' and breakin' I was completely unaware of the way these tracks were put together but in later years as hip hop mutated and embraced commercialism these tracks inspired me to investigate so many other genres. From funk to electronica to jazz it has opened both my ears and indeed my mind.
Most (not all) hip hop now seems to be nothing more than adverts for capitalism. A bling consciousness. The people fronting it are working for selling that consiousness. That's what it's about ....... jealousy. Stopping contentment, arousing greed and discontentment for more .... what I've got is better than yours. My milkshake brings all the fellas to my yard and their life is better than yours. -

Now you'd think that Hazel O'Conner tune was a success built on the Sax solo wouldn't you eh ?
I got given tickets to see her play her 'Breaking Glass' re-done tour at the Komedia in Brighton where she performed all the tunes off the album with just her vocal and a harp (ok ...... cheap set up) whilst telling the real story behind the album and how she only took up the 'deal' because as she was mulling it over in Lebanon suddenly shells started falling and it was her ticket out of there.
We had a good friendly chat after the gig but were interupted when a friend of hers hit a bad trip and freaked out.
My last memory was of her dragging her mate out by the hair and throwing haymakers at her backstage
The gig was a perfect mid-week trip out ...............

Incidentally, has anyone seen a post from Fishing With Jesse?
A while back he started a thread on I think the 'free for all' off topic thread and posted some music I really enjoyed.
I certainly would encourage him to post here.
Found the thread ..............

(Infact pretty much the whole of the American Pie album I'm embarressed to admit I love but there are reasons to excuse this admission, mostly related to 'triggers')
Lastly ........ ahem

Would have posted this particular tune a long time back but for obvious reasons (head nod to Warpig) it now becomes a guilty pleasure.

Off on my holidays now and when I return I've got to re-evaluate how I use my free time. This is a thread I've particularly enjoyed more than any other. In some ways I've probably learned more about you all as individuals here than on any other thread and I thank all for their contributions. Thought I'd post a few that should have been posted here a long time ago ............................

I still have to add thanks to all else especially Harvipak, sorry I haven't got a reposte for you but just to add I've loved all posts.
Just one tune to post before I do the off .......................... posted as most posters here seem to hate reggae and I'd like to end with an ignored genre. Persoanlly I find it inspirational. :-)
