  1. Not sure if this has been posted yet. I haven't had a chance to read it all yet but it looks reasonably interesting summary of recent events: Gold Market Reaching The Breaking Point Gold is becoming money once again.
  2. Thanks for your concern folks. GP did a swab test. Not feeling any worse than I have with any other flu to be honest. Anyhoo... sub £600 is certainly a possibility but if you are a UK based investor looking to protect your wealth I wouldn't wait for it before getting in to the market as I reckon the chances are very slim indeed. If it were to happen though it would be time to back up the truck with whatever dry powder you had left IMHO. It will also be party time for Junior gold miners sometime between now and mid/end 2010 as costs go down and gold remains up.
  3. Yep the fear of a "big pullback just around the corner" has gotten me exactly nowhere. Sub £600 was a gift from god for UK investors looking to protect their wealth. Lesson learned listen to what your own analysis of the situation tells you. Best of luck everyone. Love the rocket pic GF. Ah brought a smile to my face even though i have the dreaded swine flu! EDIT: news of this action in the gold market may even start to get the wider public's attention. Well thats assuming they are not all too busy stuck in their over-priced mc mansions masturbating over property porn show re-runs from 2007!
  4. Hi bigtbigt, what should the people of those two nations do to protect themselves? From what you have said it would appear buying gold would at least maintain their purchasing power? Diversifying in to other currencies may increase their purchasing power? But what if the governments of those other nations also try to devalue? This is a significant risk as they all try to race to the bottom. From a longer term perspective gold looks the best bet here?
  5. Yeah I saw on that ihub message board something about agora financial running some newsletter tipping them. Lots of speculation that this is what caused the big jump up. Yeah I have been thinking about doing the whole "if it doubles sell half" approach. Then getting a free ride to where ever this things takes us. Mind you I haven't had a chance to accumulate the 10,000 shares All Allan mandates as the bare minimum If we head anywhere near All Allans numbers a small punt now will buy a small house outright in 5 years As a former scientist having worked in the pharmaceutical industry I find their technology really interesting and can totally see the potential. Still a sizable chance NNVC goes to zero though. Death or glory indeed!
  6. I agree it is an all or nothing gamble. Either: i) it is proven the technology/anti-viral does not work in humans in which case the stock would go to about zero ii) it is proven the technology does work and some major pharma picks it up and we shoot off to All Allans numbers. I decided when I bought the stock that this was my lottery ticket and I would buy and hold until such time as either i) or ii) above happen. The anti-viral seems to be working in vivo so far which is extremely encouraging. They just need to sort out their website and spread their news more effectively.
  7. KACHING! Don't go printing those things up willy nilly mind! We don't want hyperinflation here! Apparently Kraftwerk gave permission. Wonder if they get any royalties?
  8. That would be coldplay. Did they at least have the balls to admit they nicked the melody this time? Or did they just rip off yet another artist to line their own pockets? I think their plagiarism law suit count is now at 4.
  9. BOOM! We are up 46% today! Hows that for a call! The following messageboard may be of interest to those following this stock: http://investorshub.advfn.com/boards/board...x?board_id=4102 Alternatively All Alan follows this one very closely too.

  11. http://finance.yahoo.com/news/NanoViricide...ml?x=0&.v=1 I started to nibble on this stock today. I used to work as a "target discovery" biologist within the pharmaceutical industry so this company is particularly interesting to me. Their recent experimental results look quite promising but I have to be mindful it is a long long road to market for any new drug. Thinking this could be a tuck it away and come back in a few years type stock.
  12. Well support at $0.60 was well and truly broken today. We were down at $0.42 at one point and I too was worried how low this thing could go. I was just about to pull the trigger at $0.45 today when I got interrupted and couldn't complete the trade. I came back 10 minutes later and we had jumped to $0.54. Damn! Ah well such is life. I'll be keeping a close eye on the action next week. Hope to get in between $0.45-$0.50 but that window may have closed. Hugely risky but as you say the potential upside is massive. This is my lottery ticket stock. Not much in as it could go to zero but if these guys hit the jackpot even a small sum invested will get big reward. They really need to sort out their website. They don't even keep latest press articles archived. A lot has been happening recently and I am very surprised they don't take the opportunity to keep potential investors in the loop.
  13. Nanoviricides / NNVC Just been browsing the http://allallan.blogspot.com thanks to a link from Dr B on the main board. (in edit): NNVC / NanoViricides Inc. (NYSE American ... all-data : Last: $1.00 - 10/17/2017 == > chart added as new post to old thread: http://www.greenenergyinvestors.com/index.php?showtopic=8074&page=5 I noticed this guy really likes a company called http://www.nanoviricides.com/ nanoviricides The table below summarizes the most salient and fundamental potential for NanoViricides and it's shareholders Let's briefly review what this company is all about. NanoViricides, Inc. is a development stage company with a unique nanomedicine technology. Preliminary testing of their anti-viral applications have demonstrated very high efficacies in vivo and in vitro. (1) Their anti-HIV nanoviricide showed efficiacy superior to HAART cocktail in animal studies. "HAART" means highly active antiretroviral therapy. "HAART" is essentially just antiretroviral therapy. It's three drugs combined to make highly effective therapy; (2) Their EKC-Cide is a topical solution for viral eye diseases and is currently subject to an MTA (Materials Transfer Agreement) with a major (unnamed) pharmaceutical company. It is the first ever drug to have shown clear clinical response in animal studies against adenoviral epidemic kerato-conjunctivitis; (3) Their FLU-Cide for common influenzas has shown excellent efficacy in animal studies; (4) Their FLU-Cide-HP for Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenzas (HPAI, aka "Bird Flu") has shown excellent efficacy against H5N1 clade I (resistant to Tamiflu) and H5N1 clade 2. The total dollar markets for these and other commercial disease targets represent large markets of approximately $40B total by 2013. As of today's stock close of $0.70, the market capitalization of NanoViricides is about $86M. The markets their products are addressing over the next 4 years, some of which represent markets with no current non-toxic drugs and others in which there are no effective treatments whatsoever, amount to $40B. The HIV market alone is $21B. The smallest market for any single one of their drugs is $1B. How much longer will the market cap of NNVC remain under $1B? At $1B market cap, share price will be about $10.00, or 14X current share price. But that's just for starters. If their HIV anti-viral hits, a $21B market, how much is the company worth? Does $10B seem reasonable? It does to me. At a $10B market cap, share price is about $100.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd--> It has had a big pull back over the last month (down 35% to 60cents). It looks a high risk but potentially very interesting company for the brave hearted investor. You can find all the All Allan blog postings on this company at: http://allallan.blogspot.com/search?q=nnvc+
  14. Thanks for that. Interesting read. Is this the "if your buying here you are buying from me" chap? I also took a look round his website and found this gem of a video: https://www.gracelandupdates.com/video/j1/j1.html Gold has broken to new all time highs but the dollar not even broken back through the low of 72 yet. Even during the stock panic we only got back to 88. Far from the high of 121 Be careful if you are looking to play a dollar rally as it could get ugly soon Be prepared for money that will flow into gold from institutions as dollar breaks to fresh lows
  15. This article provides NO detail as to why the writer thinks the way he does. If I were a less forgiving member of this forum I would ask for this post to be moved to a sub-forum or the dungeon. But thankfully I am broader minded than to ask for that
  16. Rolfe Winkler also recommends caution in listening to anything he has to say I often wonder what these folks who caution against gold would do with a lump sum in GBP. Just hold on to the cash? I am not a trader. Just a small retail investor looking to protect what he already has. From where I stand everything other than gold looks way too risky. I just don't see this happening at all at the moment. The only thing I see is folks piling in to banking shares "for the long term" and selling their "gold4cash". As RH says we may never see a stampede from the retail investor. As I keep saying when these companies on TV are trying to sell gold to you thats when we may have entered bubble territory.
  17. I know precisely how you feel. We sold to rent in April 2008 and there just seems to be this constant under current of expectation that we should be buying soon especially now we have a wee baby daughter. But it was not so much courageous on our part to move really. With the arrival of the baby we needed more space but simply could not afford the mortgage. Renting is MUCH cheaper and we can put the spare cash in to PMs. Until this situation changes we will continue to rent as it simply makes basic financial sense. The price fluctuations in PMs can be stomach churning at times though! Good luck.
  18. Yes but you can at least try to please some of the people all the time. Who exactly was pleased to see this go to a trading only thread? Who specifically asked/wanted this? All rhetorical now I suppose.... pity that... back to GF's gold thread...
  19. OK so why then do I read posts on here chastising people when they mention longer term investment style horizons? If the thread still covers "the wider aspects of gold investing and trading" why not change a totally incorrect and misleading title? If your comments are made to feel unwelcome you go elsewhere. Its not "spitting the dummy" as you so eloquently put it. Its moving on to where your discussion will get a proper airing and be valued.
  20. Fair play. I don't have the time or skill for the stock trading at the moment so wealth preservation is the name of the game for me. I know this wasn't your making here halcyon so no hard feeling to you on this one. But I find it very odd and quite disrespectful to G0ldfinger (who started this thread so long ago) and all other gold interests on this board that this thread has been made trading only. No reply to those questioning why this move was made. All in all a poor show really. I guess I shouldn't post here anymore. I'll stick to G0ldfingers new thread. Bit of a shame that its come to that.
  21. I wonder if Realist Bear on HPC is bullish on gold now that news reports are surfacing that the large hadron collider may never get off the ground? http://www.telegraph.co.uk/science/science...own-future.html That rich stream of human manufactured gold will never come online? Oh but then there is always mining the inside of nuclear reactors though isn't there silly me.
  22. And all the while "goldbugs" get criticised for listening to "gold pushers" and their "crazy stories" It cuts both ways dont you think
  23. Thats weird because here in UK it is the exact opposite for me. I can see price inflation for things I actually need every day everywhere. OK so for now you could do just as well getting out of USD/GBP and in to some other currency rather than gold but why take the counter party risk? It seems clear there is a race to the bottom on with currencies all trying to devalue. But since they are all relative the only thing can really ALL devalue against is gold. It will be a bumpy ride but for those non-traders who are just looking to preserve their wealth gold is something to hold.
  24. OK so someone who bought gold a few months back with USD has maintained their purchasing power in other countries currencies. That is truely fantastic news and not something to be gloomy about gold at all. In fact that is the very essence of why you should buy gold. It is a hedge against government more than it is a hedge against inflation. It may not make you rich but it will maintain your purchasing power globally.
  25. Good point. I've only bought a handful of these things and all came with certificates of authenticity stating fineness. At 10GBP a pop I imagine wouldn't be worth folks while to forge? But your right best to be sure what exactly it is your getting. That's why I was wondering if investors might favour recognisable and well known bullion coins that state their fineness on the coin itself?
