there have been numerous warnings about only trusting yourself with your physical stash. I am a firm believer of this camp. In this current climate, I wouldn't rule anything out Justin Thyme. I am not trying to be melodramatic btw. Government legislation is the only thing that is guaranteeing your gold isn't it ? If that changed, so might the access to your gold. Also, with all this comex default talk, what if it isn't there when you come to withdraw it ? :unsure:

Catflap, I know you have more knowledge than me about the sm, BUT these are not ordinary times. Please do not focus fully on the stats & charts. Gut instinct. The only chart you need right now is this one edited - take a close look at that drop. 400 down to about 25 in a couple of years. We have been in this one about 1 year.

yes but it will cost you £20. Take your father into his garden & set fire to a £20 note right in front of him. Then tell him this is what's happening to his savings, but he doesn't get to see the burning or smell the smoke. Trust me I am in exactly the same situation as we have discussed before. I have actually thought of doing this to them, but it's actually my step father & we don't get on at all. My mother doesn't want to discuss financial matters as he handles everything. That's why they are fooked.

I am in a similar situation regarding my parents savings, they have a reasonable cash stash........fooken idiots have it all with various banks though (they have lost a fortune on shares also) A lifetimes savings will be all but wasted. The cause: pure ignorance I warned them continously every month for the last 1-2 years, the warnings varied in urgency obviously.

I spent 2 years telling/arguing everyone that the stats were being fudged EVEN the official ones. How they laughed. As with everything, experience & common sense wins the day.

sorry, been out. ah, so it's definetly the java upgrade (out of interest any windows update files get done also? just in case although prob java) you have rebooted haven't you ? firefox needs a restart after java upgrade, but full reboot always advised. I assume you are running microshaft xp or veesta ? add remove programs, uninstall java, reeboot, then either get the older version that worked & reinstall or go for the new one again but after reboot obviously. let me know if you want to troubleshoot it.....

what browser are you using ? get firefox in the meantime if you are on IE, remember to browse the addon page though for flash etc...

do you know what Steve, I kept saying in 2007 & 2008 on both hpc & ghpc, that we would have anomalies in the stats, even the official government ones. It was so obvious to me & others that this would be the case & that's why it's very dangerous to just rely on stats.
