The question is how long will it now last, if we are at that point. The graph suggests 12 months or so...will it be any different this time around? Does human nature change? Will the internet compress the time period of the speculative stage? If only we knew.

Thought this was apt considering the thread subtitle. Yahoo giving mainstream advice (from their homepage) on how to "get in" http://uk.biz.yahoo.com/02102009/389/know-...-gold-rush.html

The Elliott Wave thread / Comments, links, charts
'Green'Investor replied to drbubb's topic in Gold, FX, Stocks / Diaries & Blogs
He's forecasting an oil price of between $4 & $10 also dispelling "the peak oil mania" in the process. Bold stuff!! -
Either way, it's just another doubt to add to the list. Buy physical. Perhaps we should start a thread along the same lines as Steve Netwriters recent "little project for all the goldbugs" thread i.e. Why PM ETF's are a good idea......anyone??

'Green'Investor replied to charlie's topic in Gold, FX, Stocks / Diaries & Blogs
Charlie, just to say I enjoyed those 2 chapters and would definitely purchase this type of book, I find them very helpful for new ideas and also when they mirror thoughts of mine, it lets me know I'm in the right ball park with things! Keep us posted, cheers. -
Looks like a 2 year repeating cycle though?

Jim Sinclair thread (News & Views)
'Green'Investor replied to G0ldfinger's topic in Gold, FX, Stocks / Diaries & Blogs
Saw the "it is now" thing but was confused by J.S' references to being on the cusp of Alf Fields 5th wave and then showing this (which if I recall correctly has since been updated to much higher levels and different wave counts?) Does this not make sense to anyone else? Last time I looked gold was <$940, how can we be beginning the 5th wave ?? -

"Devastated" miners being discussed - Time to Buy?
'Green'Investor replied to drbubb's topic in Mining and Precious Metals
Orezone Resources (OZN) up just shy of 200% today, someones buying, big time, 40million shares today (average maybe around 1 million, if that?) -
Goldline now have brittanias, krugs and sov's available.
-
My two pence worth, keeping it simple, I would expect a bounce off the lower trend line at around $745-755 with an eventual retest of the upper trend line around 925?

The really interesting bit (for me) is the caller (Bill from Tampa) just before Ed Young at 9 minutes. Tom O'Brien talks about Great Basin (AMEX:GBN), a gold producer. Caller gets in at $1 something and Tom says it will get back to it's highs of $3.85 but it will take a few years. Also comments about the madness of the gold market but is essentially saying hold tight and don't get scared out, at least that's how I took it.

Hi all, I recall a discussion on this subject that I participated in a while ago but for some reason I cant find it so I'm starting a new thread. Re: Jim Sinclairs continuing comments to distance yourself from financial entities and make sure you have a personal book entry at the transfer agent etc: How are those of you based in the UK with canadian junior shares protecting yourself? I have mine (currently) in a nominee account with a well known execution only online broker. Reading the terms and conditions the "protection" is almost non-existant, and has actually really worried me, which is what Jim Sinclair is trying to get through to people. So my question is have you "protected youself"? And if so what did you do? Did you swap brokers? If so, who would be suitable? Did you manage to get a book entry even though you have a nominee account (which I would have thought is not possible) If you haven't, why not? Are you going to? I am really struggling with what options I have with this so any advice or comments would be gratefully appreciated by myself and, I assume, by lots of others on here. Kind regards, G.I.

They are essentailly a Canadian firm, Toronto Dominion! So yeah, I was surprised to! Not rang them yet, but have received the above reply via email. Therefore, I think it's wise to call them tomorrow to verify. Secondly, I have not rang round any other brokers yet, but have searched online and they all seem to be similair, i.e. nominee accounts that you cant distinguish who actually owns what?? I was hoping this thread would throw up a short list of candidates to call tomorrow. Any idea's? -

Thanks for the reply Quark but I have already tried to get share certificates and this was the reply I recieved hence the concern: Do you own canadian shares Quark? If so can you recommend a broker that will allow for the share certificates to be delivered as most don't allow it. -
