  1. Yeah, I just don't see the public getting involved. I am old enough to remember the last great bull run in gold, and that was something else. All the teenage girls wore belchar chains and gold bracelets with trinkets on them. Older folk would go for the sovs and kruggers. For Christmas or Birthdays you got some gold. I still have a lot from the late 70s and early 80s. I don't see anything like it this time. Not yet anyway.

  3. GF, where do you think we are on your chart? I not sure the institutions have even started to accumulate gold.
  4. Silver went an a tear today. It was possessed.
  5. The BoE can't lower rates to help the housing market any more. LIBOR is not cooperating. The market wants to set the mortgage rates. Last time they dropped rates LIBOR spead widened. They are stuck, that is why they are coming up with all these schemes to get the CDO market flowing again. But the CDO market is not buying any more turd debt, even if they package it up with a fancy ribbon and give it a GOLD name. They must think the market is stupid.
  6. MEW Mortgage Equity Withdrawal. It used to be called a second mortgage. Now it has a flashy name to give it some sexiness to attract the debt addicts.
  7. First he sells our gold then he uses the name for mortgages that are going to be tomorrows repos. Everyone with 1/4 of brain knows the Gold standard implies backed by gold. I would like to know what or who is the "GOLD" in the gold backed mortgage? Is it the bank of Northern Rock. Maybe the buffoon thinks the rock in Northern Rock is made of Gold. It used to be Rule Britannia; now it is Insanity Rules.
  8. Excellent idea. Also has a slight numismatic value to them.
  9. After selling UK's gold at the lowest price for decades, the fat and incompetent world's best rogue trader, Gordon Brown, has decided to hi-jack the GOLD name for one of his cocker maimy schemes. I as a citizen object profusely: http://www.marketwatch.com/news/story/uk-t...3D811F094D82%7D The proposed "gold standard" seal would be reserved for groups of mortgage-backed securities made up of loans that meet higher standards of creditworthiness and quality thresholds, the Financial Times reported Wednesday. A good fiction writer couldn't make some of this stuff up himself.
  10. Gold really wants to close at an all time high today. That will be bullish for tomorrow. It seems the market didn't like the ambac deal, it seems there are only two banks as backstop. Don't laugh - Barclays and Citi. I kid you not, some of this stuff you can't make up. The same turd names crop up all over the place. Silver taking no prisoners today and what about that yuckie black stuff - oil. 5% today. The masses are going to have to MEW to fill up soon.
  11. Strange thing is I was only praising the mods a couple of days ago, and I never insulted or said anything to them directly or indirectly. All I said is I was going to leave and they got all bent out of shape.
  12. I wonder if the BBC will report it on the main news if Gold does breach 1,000. Surely they'll be able to sandwich it in between the dire news of the banks, houses, jobs, higher petrol prices and general inflation. Of course, if there is any news on Maddie all these issues will get pushed to one side. Priorities my boy...
  13. OK here is the question. Does gold retreat to the 800s like oil did when it breached 100 (oil went back to 88)? Or does it hit every newspaper and news show around the world and quickly run-off to 1,200? That's a tough one..
  14. I can almost reach and touch a 1,000....
  15. CNBC are a total joke. They should be a comedy channel or fiction. Monday - BUY GOLD Tuesday - SELL GOLD Wednesday - BUY GOLD No wonder Americans walk around in a daze most of the time.
  16. AMBAC .... DEAL OR NO DEAL? That is what the market wants to know.
  17. I have my own theory on Juniors, and that is they rely on capital markets for money (which is tight) and use a lot of energy prospecting (oil) which is expensive. The juniors best chance, and investors to, is a buying from one of the majors like Goldcorp, Barrick, or Newmont. Bubb is an expert on Juniors and mining, so when he gets back hopefully he can weigh in. That is if he is isn't mad at us for setting up shop over here.
  18. RB is a major problem with that site. He posts links with misleading titles and tells everyone that dollars is good and gold is bad. If he were a TV I would take it back to the shop and demand a refund on the grounds of the picture being fuzzy, and when you can make it out it just tells you lies.
  19. They think because houses are going down they have deflation. They will pay dearly.
  20. Yep, I saw some guy on CNBC telling the masses that OPEC said this in not a supply and demand issue - this is a dollar issue. Basically pointing the finger straight back at the US and specifically the Federal Reserve. Yesterday's smacking was in anticipation of this news from OPEC. Coincidence? No. Manipulation? You betcha. Keep you family and PMs close, this is gonna get wild now.
  21. Yeah, I own some. A major and a Junior. The major GG has been doing great - just busted out to new highs, but the juniors are miserable. I got burnt buy one and the other I own has been sideways for over a year. The miners are still companies and have the same problems all other companies face.
  22. OMG OIL is on TEAR today. Soon they will giving cars away at petrol stations. OIL +3.9%
  23. These corrections are what is required to the PMs into orbit. The short sellers that pile in for the "big one" and nervous nellies all end up buying back in at higher prices - adding rocket fuel at 1000 octane.
  24. SILVER UP NEARLY 5% today. I need to go find a nice horsey picture. BRB
