  1. How can you forget "Al Capone's guns don't hargue?".........(and no, thats not a typo!) From: I was very much raised on guitar music and used to play in a band when we were kids.......theres no bigger buzz than winding up the Marshall to 11, and smashing out a few chords! I am fairly picky on what i listen to these days. I love the rap metal stuff but there is a lot of the modern metal that is a bit naff. From SR's selection, the ones that grabbed me were the Helmet/House of Pain. Great drumming on that track and theres nothing better than hearing a talented drummer slogging it out behind a kit. The other one was Body Count/IceT Honourable mentions go to Rage against the Machine, System of a Down, Manson, Foos, QOTSA and anything with "teeth!"
  2. The turps definitely aint good for me!...makes my hair fall out!....(well thats my excuse anyway)
  3. Foos, Manson, Korn, Faith no more and especially RATM retrieved from the memory banks...cheers ......the rest was an education! Top posts and my kind of music....thanks a bunch!
  4. Awesome selection dude! Definitely my kind of music! Looks like you set me up for an evening of air guitar and moshin'! This evenings chemical entertainment assistance courtesy of Aldi white cider.......... and if i am still standing when that is gone, I got a half bottle of turps left in the garden shed as a backup! Sleep tight!
  5. Red pill or the Blue pill? From: From: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xsX4dpmiaCs From: From: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=grUF8C-5Qbo From: From: What the hell.......not strictly the Matrix but a good 'un Warning, sexual theme...mods, look away now! From:
  6. Dont know if you remember, but the sampled commentary in "19" was based on a documentary about the Vietnam war that was screened some months before 19 was released. The documentary was chilling and very powerful and portrayed the full horrors of war. It was a tribute to the documentary and way ahead of its time
  7. lol.....I can believe that. I remember in the very early days before they really took off, they were considered to be a bit nerdy. They have done some great tunes over the years but they also have a large back catalogue of crap too I like this one...Voodoo people (pendulum remix) From:
  8. Climbatize...superb track! Saw them on the Fat of the Land tour and the crowd were well and truely bouncing to that one!
  9. Prodigy nut here I have seen that so many times with the kids of today. A lot of them are listening to our generations music. As their only choice of music is whatever Simon Cowell churns out, then who can blame them? My selection............ From: From: From: <edit> Sorry couldnt resist adding another From: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lrmf283dSXw
  10. Thats wierd you posting that tune! I was driving home last night and that tune came on the radio. Whacked the volume up full (like you do!)......hairs stand up on the back of the neck and i thought " I am going to post that to the music thread" So thanks for that one........great tune! A big trigger for me also. She reminds me very much of the first GF Maybe i got a thing for crazy women!...
  11. Yep i know what you mean. The first album was a classic and they never really produced anything quite as good after that. I remain a big fan on the strength of it though I posted it on here about 4/5 pages back and i agree.........great track & vid
  12. Here ya go SR........Some great strings on this one From:
  13. The whole DJ thing came a bit after my time and so i never really understood what it was all about. We had a band when we were kids......never wanted to be a rock star but just loved the buzz from playing....and i agree, some great times we also had. My background is guitar music but have got into a lot of the modern dance/chillout/mood stuff in recent years. Thing is, something created by a computer just doesnt feel like "proper" music to me!..(or maybe i am just an old git!..lol)
  14. Wondered what happened to him. Love his singing voice though!
  15. I had forgotten how barkin' mad David Byrne was. Great vid and way ahead of his time in the day. This is the ultimate David Byrne for me From: Long version From:

  18. Same here. He was never on my radar for along time. I have actually seen him about 3 times at Reading/Leeds and the thing about him is that he could stand on stage and do the most ridiculous dance routine and still look cool!
  19. I would agree with that The thread is about sharing musical tastes but its also about self undulgence! FWIW, i had never heard of Unkle before reading this thread, but one of the best tracks on here is the Ian Brown/Unkle - Reign that you posted So SR.......post away! :-)
