How did you get on with your search? Picked out "Heemskirk, Lion Selection Group" from this forum, haven't looked into them yet. Had a brief look at the fund Cambell-smyth is advisor to, lock-ins weren't what I was looking for. Taking a further look.....
finstudent
There have been a few posts on GEI about which funds might track the junior gold index, as defined as the TSX Venture index here. I'm finding that the U.S. mutual fund UNWPX tracks it fairly well, based on both portfolio manager commentary and statistical measures. I've owned this fund on and off for years as a proxy for the gold & precious metal market, but noticed it's similarity to the CDNX index after seeing it posted here. After adjusting two years of data for holidays and currency (using some artistic license), I ran a correlation analysis between the two and found a 66% correlation. The chart shows a fair amount of tracking, but varies in magnitude of move which is most likely explained by the increased diversity of the index as compared to the fund. No6
Considering how well mining has done in recent years it is surprising just how few UK funds there are specialising in the sector. You would have thought that there would be at least one Canadian Mining Juniors Fund, but if there is I haven't found it.

No6
I remember towards the end of the tech boom a number of UK and US Unit/investment trusts being set up, supposedly to take advantage of it. Most went underwater quickly when prices collapsed. So far there are hardly any UK mining funds.

The Nucleus Smith+Williamson fund has lots of Can juniors but the managers have left (end feb) to join Sprott Asset Mgmnt in Canada I was looking at investing in it but that news put me off. Any thoughts?
