webmaster
Thanks to our members for posting actively, and helping to grow GEI. This has made it the success that it is, and will help us to build GEI into the bigger success that I am expecting in the future. There are a few changes coming to the format of GEI, and I thought you might like to know about them: 1. We have added advertising from Google. This involves a minimum disruption the the board, and perhaps some of you have not even noticed, since the ads are relatively inconspicuous, and are nestled just below the GEI title. These ads are expected to generate a small amount of recurring revenues, which will pay for - or help pay for- the monthly hosting charge. 2. We are in discussions with an established resources newservice about an exchange of links. If this happens, then two or three buttons would be added to the board, and these buttons would allow our members to easily access those news services, which have regular articles on: Alternative Energy, Mining, and Agricultural companies. Perhaps there may even be a new blog area, fed by those news services. Assuming this goes ahead, then GEI would also have links on those boards. I expect that this exchange would bring: New traffic, and a larger pool of potential new posters, including some that may have deep knowledge of mining, and the sectors. 3. To facilitate number 2, the boards may be reconstructed somewhat ....to include a section dedicated solely to Mining companies and precious metals. It is hoped that this change would bring an substantial jump in the number of postings about specific Mining companies, while also bring in many new posters, who may have some high quality contributions to make. HollandPark
The ads are fine with me- I hardly noticed them I suppose if we click from time-to-time, it might enhance revenues somewhat/
Member100
What are all these Google Links about === ??? I tried clicking on "advertise on this site", and found this: Advertise on http://www.greenenergyinvestors.com/ -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- You are just steps away from advertising on this site, a valued member of Google's diverse network of partner websites. The 'Advertise on this site' link you just clicked is part of an ad delivered by the Google AdWords system. Click 'Sign Up Now' to open an AdWords account and create an ad for this site in one quick, simple process. Write your own message, set the price you want to pay and we shall take care of the rest. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- How much does AdWords cost? In the Google AdWords program, the cost of your campaigns really depends on you -- how much you're willing to pay and how well you know your audience. It all boils down to knowing your own goals and applying them to your account. There is a nominal, one-time activation fee for Google AdWords. After that, you pay only for clicks on your keyword-targeted AdWords ads, or for impressions on your site-targeted AdWords ads. You can control your costs by selecting how much you're willing to pay per click or per impression and by setting a daily budget for spending in your account. For example, a new advertiser paying in USD can activate their AdWords account with just US$5.00, and can then choose a maximum cost-per-click (CPC) from US$0.01 - US$100. Daily budgets start as low as 1 cent up to whatever limit the advertiser is comfortable spending. Site-targeted ads require a minimum CPM (cost per thousand impressions) price of US$0.25, or the local currency rate, per 1000 impressions. = = How much do you get for these ads, GEI ? godsakes
Not much but every little helps! there must be better ways of monestising this forum than with adsense? the click through rate on a forum must be naff. a lot of these full time adsense webmasters specialise in making, well craps sites - but well optimised niche ones so the sites get decent traffic. The reasoning behind making a crap site (aside from time constraints) it is basically the worse the content the more likely the viewer this going to click away from the site. drbubb
"The reasoning behind making a crap site (aside from time constraints) it is basically the worse the content the more likely the viewer this going to click away from the site" LOL "CRap" is not what we are aiming for. Above all else, we want return traffic. If people surf away, that is fine, but we want them to come back, and maybe be more knowledgeable from whatever they visited. Even come back, and share
