I have pretty much the same thoughts as you. But maybe I would only replace something 50% silver by gold then. I( would not really expect the ratio to go below 35:1 this time. From the recent history, I would expect a spike soon, but there is no reason why there shouldn't be another, higher one a few years later.

Also, a bubble can go longer than you think. HPC should have been in or before 2004. And it's only happening now.

Well, yeah, they run the show. They run the treasury, they run the Fed, the run the Bank of Canada, and they where the only ones to short subprime (and selling it to their customers at the same time). Good stuff. Could the US at some stage simply nationalize GS to get back all the gold, or would this be wagging the dog? My guess is the latter one.

I have only very few silver coins. Most of my silver is via GoldMoney. I didn't know old UK silver (scrap) coins were VAT free. Should really look into this.

It's not 'my' chart, of course, but I think we are not beyond the awareness phase, possibly just at the end. Gold has just started to get some media attention.

I don't care too much. It is clear that there will be major rumbles around $1,000-$1,050. However, I think that there is MAJOR support at gold $800 and silver $15. Depending on how early people got in, this is VERY reassuring and they can weather the storm.

On another note, my mother in law (who lives in the US) recently told my wife on the phone that a befriended elderly woman told her that the price of gold was almost $1,000. Now, if the grannies in the US already start talking about this...
