steve hillage doing what he does best
Never realised he was still going let alone he had morphed into a dance act!
I worshipped that guy as a youth, cant sing to save his life but the music is superb. One of the fastest guitarists i have seen and could probably give Gary Moore a run for his money!
Probably sounds dated now but what he was doing in the late seventies was cutting edge.
A few from the pre dance era.........

Friday show?........"its a blimp Frank!"

Glad you raised the issue, personally I'm not one to complain .............
Cheers for that.
I didnt understand it to be honest and thought that i couldnt post anymore YT vids as i had reached some kind of quota.
So what you are saying is that it is a maximum of 2 vids per post?
Suppose i can live with that as its not too difficult to work around

Admin...........need help here!
"Sorry, but you have posted more media files than you are allowed to"

My favourite band as a teenager
I had a pal who was mad about BBD and we saw them around 78 and also the spin off band Bill Nelsons Red Noise a year or so later.
Great guitarist and he had a real cult following back in the day...(looks really dated now though!)
As for Claire Grogan, every teenagers dream!
In fact, I dont think I would kick her out of bed even now!

She has a beautiful voice. I've listened to this 5 or 6 times...
Yea thats what i thought. Sort of stumbled on that one and if i am honest, i never rated her as a serious musician....maybe the girl got talent after all?
Just a shame about her taste in men!

anything but average
Fantastic tune.....one of the best rhythmn sections in the business

Never realised she sang the lead on this classic...

Maybe some of you guys will find this here as useful as I:
That could be handy!
Unfortunately, no HUI

I'm seeing shadow play his set 'Shadowsphere' at the Dome in Brighton. I guess it's what he'll be touring. I'll let you know how good it is and whether it's worth missing. With beardyman supporting though I think I may be bias.
:-)
Do you remember this doing the rounds a few years ago?

...and stumbled on this

Superb!

U2 were always great live, the Joshua Tree tour was the gig of the year, whilst the suspended trabant a good few years later on the Actung baby tour was quite a novel backdrop.
Like i say, quite looking forward to seeing them although I would have preferred KOL headlining. I have no doubt in my mind that U2 will be superb live!

RIP Poly Styrene

I can't say I'm a U2 fan, but Under a Blood Red Sky is legendary.
Me neither really although i prefer their more recent stuff. Havent seen them before, so would like to see them live (along with Coldplay, Elbow and Ce Lo Green)
The rest of the acts will probably end up as an alcohol blurred memory!

I'm with you on the * shudders * but lovin that Quincy Jones tune. Bring on the summer!
Keep listening to this and wow.......what an amazing talent

Give it another go. The AVDJ who put this together is fantastically talented. I don't know Disney's version of 'Alice in Wonderland' but he's played alongside the visuals superbly at times. The moment he mixes up Coldplay's ** yacks a little though doesn't know why? ** "Fix You" with ........... well watch it and see ................. but it's the most enjoyable bit of free entertainment I've received for some time and thought it worth passing on.
Cheers will give it another go
Harvi is a happy bunny today as i managed to get hold of some Glasto tickets...wahay! Noticed that DJ shadow is playing the John Peel stage on Friday but it clashes with U2's set. Might try to check him out if i get chance
-
I've seen the Easy Dub Allstars twice. They play very nicely.
Ok, so they're not Pink Floyd but imho, the stuff they do is preferable than just another tribute cover band.
Most definitely. They arent even trying to copy Floyd...its their interpretation. Nothing wrong with that.
The NIL played the whole album at a recent family gathering and although i enjoyed listening to it, I still struggle somewhat with reggae....can be heavy going at times!
-
I know what you mean, it reminds me of Dread Zeppelin. It never quite sat right with me...
I was "dreading" how bad that was going to be, but pleasantly surprised! (was that elvis singing?)
-
Endtroducing - one of the finest albums in my opinion
I would recomend using headphones though....... and maybe while out walking.
I usually have the phones up on 11 when listening to this thread, but played AIW through the speakers. Might give it another go as there was some good stuff on it.

Another of the Nephew in laws selection...Dub side of the moon
Jury is out on this one....sounds more like sacreledge to this old timer!
-
Rather like the Wizard of Oz vs Pink Floyd's Dark side of the Moon .....................
Alice in Wonderland vs DJ Shadow .................. Alice in Shadowland.
Chatting with my nephew in law recently and he was raving about DJ Shadow and how good he was, so tonights project is to listen to this in its entirety (and maybe take in the odd beer!)
