G0ldfinger
They have been advertised for on GSR by Chris Waltzeck. Doesn't mean much, but has anyone had a closer look at them? I haven't had the time yet to look further into them to find out about their production costs. The resource itself is possibly OK. http://www.firerivergold.com

One company i am getting more an more excited about is Pinetree Capital (PNO.TO). http://www.pinetreecapital.com/ Pinetree is one of my biggest holdings its had a good run recently but its still cheap as chips IMO. Its a financial company that invests in explorers in the Precious metals, oil gas, potash, uranium, rare earths, base metals fields they lend money in return for warrants etc.. Great company that investors misunderstand still trading at less than book value. PS ticker is PNP.TO

I mean, how much business are the warrants (are these plain stock options, or what are they) compared to plain ownership? I guess, my main question would be that if they're mostly operating like a fund, why should valuation be much different from NAV?

BTW I already owned PNP before this thread but I added a bit more afterwards. Still a fifth of its 2008 high! PNP thead Basically the company has warrants etc. in over 400 explorers the guy running it is well known and I haven't the time, inclination or industry experience to check out thousands of miners financially or geologically. PS you can also buy warrants in Pinetree!
