  1. The help section is very comprehensive and should answer most of your questions. http://www.bullionvault.com/help/index.do I don't know who cie are?
  2. Accumulated more at $924 in the "discount window", thanks Ben & Co. he's going to get on my xmas card list at this rate. He's an interest paragraph from trader Dan yesterday of JSmineset for newbies (like me). http://www.jsmineset.com/ARhome.asp?VAfg=1...str=&UArts=
  3. You can subscribe to receive emails when new videos or articles are posted up on the site.
  4. Thanks guys, two excellent pointers for educational resources for us novices which just exemplifies why GEI is such a great web site. It's at times like these that I appreciate having been born in the developed world where resources like these are at our finger tips and free to boot.
  5. Do you think that the bullion banks at both sides of the pond are in collusion or New York saw favourable "normal" market movement in London for them not to intervene?
  6. I agree, except for the "her" bit.
  7. A couple of knock downs today of different magnitudes and neither one at the time we have been accustomed too. I'm pleased I forgot to place a sell order with my Sbing firm. Is this the PPT being a bit more discreet than of late? Buying on huge volume at $950 BTW.
  8. Was that the PPT, gold knocked down c$10 oil down and the eur/usd. Which did they hit to cause that or did they hit all of them? Looks like there was strong buying around $965 though
  9. Is that a yes to GM accepting a GP's validation? Has the guy in your avatar just had his validated or has he been subjected to the insertion of a hot poker in an inconvenient place?
  10. Nice to see you back again marceau, I'm another one who enjoys reading your learned comments. I'm thinking that with the precarious state of the regional banks I may miss the boat with some cash I have available for investing if I wait for a drop below $950, is that what you mean when you say "the trick will be to stay brave and make those buys after we drop $15-20" ?
  11. Thanks, I think I'm getting the hang of this
  12. We are obviously seeing inflation taking hold across the globe in varying degrees, if it remains unchecked (which is almost guaranteed in the UK and USA in the short term) I presume it will manifest itself in a parabolic curve which by it's very nature would have an inflection point where it rockets upwards vertically. Is that correct?
  13. The old oil price model does n't work anymore. It appears the old school or traditional thinkers (expecting price drops) have not adjusted to the new energy pardigm, Peter Schiff has: http://www.financialsense.com/fsu/editoria.../2008/0711.html In these changing times I'm beginning to think the unfettered/inexperienced mind of the novice investor is going to be more of an asset than a hindrance to success.
  14. There's also a 1.5% currency exchange charge, so for a £1000 deal it would cost £27.95 or £55.90 a round trip. That's assuming their platform allows you to trade the stock you're interested in otherwise a telephone trade will cost a minimum of £25 (plus the currency charge)on a sliding scale.
  15. http://www.kitco.com/ind/willie/jun262008.html Another intriguing and insightfull piece from Jim Willie, a long essay but well worth a butchers IMO. An excerpt quoted below: Given my Citibank accounts the spanish archer.
  16. Easier going than the credit derivatives lectures, great lecturer though IMHO. 50% physical, authorative confirmation of the imminent. Top hole, thanks
  17. I don't know about that but I've never had any complaints from the girl friend.
  18. He who holds the oil makes the rules.
  19. Great article, thanks for the "heads up"
  20. Price has broken out of it's downward trend, is above the 50dma, upper bolinger band and a penannt (triangular shape)or continuation pattern is present. Could indicate a reversal of trend if accompanied by large volume and exits the range less than or equal to 2/3rds of the way along the formation "which it is". One caveat, the top of the spike on (March 17th Bear Stearns day)is being used for the upper trend line so this may affect the validity of the break out. Is that correct?
  21. The bags must be heavy, is it possible/viable/safe to get them shipped to the UK and from whom? TIA
  22. It seems odd that the votes are not counted until the next day. I have been in charge of a polling staion a couple of times in the UK and the votes are counted immediately after the polling stations are closed and often goes on through the night and into the next day if recounts are necessary. What about the security and integrity of the ballot boxes overnight?
  23. From post #31 http://www.greenenergyinvestors.com/index....amp;#entry40838 Some big names I recognize in there, a like the sustantial exposure to energy and natural resources. The only thing I'd be slightly concerned about is the real estate holdings. I'm not familiar with the Canadian property market but suspect they may be on the same boom bust crash course as the US and UK but probably to a lesser degree. Combine this with an economic slowdown hitting commercial property and it may have a short to medium term affect on the SP. Having said that with strong energy and natural resources trusts paying big divi's I would expect the fund to be a top performer even in a poor economic climate. But who knows, Canada being rich in natural resources may escape unscathed in a global slowdown. I may choose to do some research and select a number of energy and natural resources trusts I feel have the best prospects. If anyone can suggest the best websites (other then the individual stock's) where I can do this and monitor industry news etc it would be appreciated. Stockhouse is one I know of so far. There is a newsletter dedicated to analysing and monitoring the trusts called Canadian Edge http://www.kci-com.com/lp/ce/1107/retire_default.asp and IIRC it is n't very expensive, I may consider this route, any subscribers here? Also would someone kindly summarise the changes that are to take place in 2011 and what are the likely affects on earnings and share prices. TIA
