  1. More like a speech from Willie than a discussion http://www.contraryinvestorscafe.com/broadcast.php?media=117 he expounds his very candid views on many important and thought provoking issues He includes why the juniors have been left behind and why he calls G&S ETF's a fraud. He reckons the Chinese are upset as they've figured out that the US's currency debasement is "an unfair, illicit, repudiation of debt through hidden inflation mechanisms"....wow! sounds like quote from the annals of history. Well worth a listen IMHO.
  2. I reckon there's a few more with rectumvascular conditions.
  3. A brilliant must read article by Jim Willie http://www.marketoracle.co.uk/Article4866.html Could be used as a "shorting" check list except for gold and silver and their stocks of course. Also check out the "implode o meter" (linked in the article) http://ml-implode.com/
  4. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/money/main.jhtm...C-mostviewedbox This is taking creative accounting to the extreme in fact it is arguably criminal! The balance sheets and accounting statements (which investors and counterparties rely upon) of these institutions must be a total sham. Short them into the ground and which the PM's go to the sky
  5. I think it was just a cash raising exercise like a rights issue but offering new shares to the public rather than just the existing shareholders.
  6. Worthless perhaps? More banks failing http://money.cnn.com/2008/05/12/markets/thebuzz/index.htm
  7. A correlation rather than an explanation but here's Jordan Roy-Byrne's observations with regard to gold stocks in general (he's assuming oil has reached a top) http://news.goldseek.com/GoldSeek/1210272631.php I'm looking to get some exposure to the juniors without buying the individual stocks, would it be a good time to buy into Endeavour EDV.T?
  8. Yep, NZD dropped about 50 pips against the USD shortly after the news announcement. Managed to nick a few quid trading the pair. Back to Gold.... "The consensus of public opinions is at bullish level" http://trendsman.com/wp-content/uploads/20...rdsentiment.png This was just one of the charts which I received today in the excellent trendsman newsletter. The charts are reproduced on trendsman.com but unfortunatley the commentary in the newsletter is not. Basically the compelling argument presented is that both gold and commodities are primed for a move upward. http://trendsman.com/
