  1. Something doesnt look right about that RSI indicator. How can it still be "overbought"?
  2. A surprise? ... Only to those who were not paying attention. Watch the Builder shares is a great way to stay ahead of the inexperienced "teenage scribblers" who write the news reports
  3. RH lost is temper, with some real justification, and has suspended CJ for one month. I will back him up, as I do all my Mods here. CJ seems to be operating with a "hair trigger" now, which is a shame.
  4. USING the "ABOUT GEI" SECTION - as a repository of Admin issues
  5. (I just got this report from one of the Moderators): Report: Being on the zero tolerance list, GOM has had his posting privileges suspended for week. The following sentence has been sent: You were put on zero tolerance by Bubb. Instead of taking it on the chin and letting things cool, you have continued to post in a baiting manner. Your posting privileges have been suspended for a week. When you come back, please try to contibute to this site in a constructive manner as you may be banned for good next time if you continue to distract the forum from economic issues.
  6. Another area for leniency/or complaints ... One's own thread ! The guy who starts the thread should have some strong say about what postings and posters are Troll-like per this suggestion: I think this could be a solution for those who easily feel disturbed. And if YOUR THREAD is getting disrupted, then you can posting complaints about that here, and ask for moderators' help The Moderators have discretion to move threads OFF MAIN to FRINGE or elsewhere, if they feel they do not belong on Main
  7. The Current Watch List - as per 8 Feb. 2010 ZERO or Low tolerance for these four: Swampy, Carbon Junkie, GOM and Fitkid Originating from this thread, and posting: Okay. Here's what i want to see (after reading this thread): ZERO or Low tolerance for these four: Swampy, Carbon Junkie, GOM and Fitkid (I know Swamp is gone) They are now on a Watch List. And will get 24hour to 1week suspensions, whenever the Mods here choose. And a bit more leniency for the others that step over the line from time to time. I will start a new thread - to go into the "ABOUT GEI" section, to see if we need to add anyone to the Watch List from time to time. I certainly do not think Catflap belongs on the Watch List
  8. LOL. did they mention planning permission? perhaps it is being sold as a garage, with the headache going to the new owner
  9. "Benefits include under floor heating, double glazing and off street parking." Off street parking... within the living room, just move the sofa A snip at Pds.100,000.
  10. "Competition" drives them to to that. Normally the EA that values the property most highly gets the instruction
  11. The Hedgies models are telling them to Sell Gold, as it breaks support. Those guys were loaded to the gills, and as I said weeks ago, most of them will sell gold rather than hold it through a deep selloff
  12. I cut my Buy order in half (for if/when) GLD hits $105 I think a target near GLD-$100 is more likely now
  13. ... as posted on GLD: Fair or not fair?... Looking Back... QUOTE ("an AgeyBee" @ Nov 28 2009, 06:11 PM) How to get skint very quickly, short gold in the middle of a multi year bull market and buy dollars in the middle of their collapse. You are full of surprises DrB. UNQUOTE Response, from DrB: I am not short yet. Actually still effectively long (a little bit now) thru some Juniors. But the postings and hostility here towards Gold bears, do make it very, very tempting to short What happened?: I dont think you have seen the last of this guy
  14. Gold is falling towards some key support levels which may or may not hold. I want to nibble a bit as it hits them, and maybe buy more aggressively only if the charts look right. Gold / GLD ... update GLD-105 looks like the next support level. It will be interesting to see how much selling volume might take it there For stocks, the uptrend line has been broken (on big volume!) and the MA support is just below SPX ... update If SPX-1100 is broken, a fall to at least 1030 looks likely.
  15. Does anyone here recall the level at which India bought its Gold? We may see some decent support kicking it at that level. Thanks, P. I thought it was higher than that. +++ Gold rush: India bought nine trucks full this Diwali Mike Sangma / CNN-IBN Published on Fri, Oct 23, 2009 at 22:06 in Business section New Delhi: It's a record sale after Indians bought 56 tonnes or nine truck fulls of gold during the eight days leading up to Diwali - that is seven tonnes every day. Gold prices will go up further but it's worth buying as it is still the safest investment these days. The amount is three tonnes more than last year at a time when gold prices are at an all time high of Rs 16,000 per 10 grams. 10/23/2009: GLD closed at $103.49 x 10.2 = Gold-$1056 Open: 104.5 / High: 104.58 / Low: 102.96 // high-104.58 x 10.2= $1066.72
  16. Does anyone here recall the level at which India bought its Gold? We may see some decent support kicking it at that level.
  17. Are we getting "piped into the market" yet?
  18. I have been buying in-the-money calls on U.t. I use Canaccord as my broker, I have no idea whether or not TDW can help you with these == == == Rick Rule was interviewed on the latest KingWorld News Rick Rule / Saturday, January 16, 2010 http://www.kingworldnews.com/kingworldnews..._Rick_Rule.html Rick Rule is the founder and owner of Global Resource Investments LP, and affiliated entities, managing over $1 billion. Global is involved in securities brokerage investment management and corporate... More than half way through, he talks about Uranium. Comments: + We we early in buying several years ago, but the gains were so great it didnt matter + Prices became very silly and expensive in 2007 (?) + Most of the money raised was wasted + Now, behind the scenes, value is quietly being built + On a one year horizon, he thinks the stocks may fall in value, but he will be buying + He is very bullish on a 10 year horizon + In 3-5 years, these stocks may be much higher + Over the next year, he hopes Uranium stock prices will fall
  19. That was then (when it was turning up, about 9 months ago), and this is now. And I am now trying to be more precise: This cycle should rollover again this winter, and may be rolling over now. Look at the charts, and you will see that the window looks much narrower for me now. I think the coming slide will be steeper than the Blue line above suggests. But NO GUARANTEE can be given. (I'm in the business here of making the best forecast I can, but not in guaranteeing a result where no guarantee is possible. (I leave the wild promises to those who feed hopes, in order to clean out wallets.) Here's another forecaster who sees an almost immediate downturn /source: http://tinyurl.com/MnywkProp
  20. Guangdong nuclear is planning to increase its power generation, so that its need for Uranium fuel will increase 10-fold to 20 million pounds per annum in 2020. China can only supply about 10% of that
  21. As a separate matter: Regarding these comments 1/ "This forum went silly as POG fell and all the paper bugs started crowing over a small correction in gold." 2/ "you have absolutely nailed it on the head carbon junkie" You both seem to have missed the crowing, and other extremely obnoxious behaviour from some Gold bulls here. In hindsight, they deserved banning from their extreme aggressiveness in attacking those that disagreed
  22. Gom, and Carbon. I have been asked to ban you both for a time. But I am going to let this pass with a warning, since you seem to have stopped throwing big globs of mud, and are slinging less. I dont think some of the comments were appropriate, and I think you know which ones I mean. So kindly, cool it!
  23. I had dinner this evening with a friend visiting HK for two days. He's a senior guy in one of the larger Uranium exploration companies. His view is that there is no supply crunch coming in the next two years. But sometime after that, in 3-5 years time, there is likely to be a big supply squeeze as utilities with new projects underway start competing with each other to lock-in long term supply. If the squeeze comes earlier, he thinks it will be due to "security issues", as buyers in places like Japan or Korea decide that they do not want to be too dependent on countries like the US (which may impose export restrictions, or "higher risk countries" like Kazakhstan, or South Africa.
  24. Retraced back to 50% of drop, and then a bit higher. It is beginning to give back the gain. Watching from HK: Daily chart ( here ) is holding at the Upper Bolly limit, and not falling back inside. If it can do that all day, I would take it as a bullish sign

Uranium Partic. $6.620 - as a benchmark *(larger holdings marked with an asterisk) A few of these are legacy positions, acquired years ago. Most were acquired recently, during the Q4 dip.. None have reached my target sell levels yet, since I am bullish on Uranium from here, and am using U.t as a benchmark. U.t / Uranium Participation Corporation (TSX) ... update == == == This thread has been languishing here, forgotten. Following is a post originally made on DrBubb's Diary QUOTE I mentioned Laramide on a recent podcast. Some of the others are here, on the Uranium thread: http://www.greenenergyinvestors.com/index.php?showtopic=8315 I also bought a few calls on U.t yesterday. But will await more signs of a turn before adding more. We shall see. I like to buy stocks when they are cheap and out-of-favor. There is a catalyst which may move those stocks, which is if the US embraces Nuclear power in a major way. That seems likely within 2010 to me. Few are talking about it yet. UNQUOTE
