drbubb
Didn't you ask them to remove all your posts and were talking about getting a lawyer involved? Newbear
I haven't even looked at HPC for maybe three years. The level of debate when I gave it up was dire. Someone here sent me a PM about it & we had this conversation: DB: It is funny. But they have got the wrong Hitler. Why should I be unhappy about where things stand? I like saving time. And it is very good for me to know now that I was wasting it there- so I won't bother in future. It's a pity I didn't realise it sooner, but I learned a few interesting things along the way, so perhaps it was worth it after all. They called GEI a tumbleweed site for months, and now it is gaining traffic and may soon move past Singing Pig. Maybe the same thing will eventually happen with GPC, and maybe not. The things I post there may be interesting to many GEI posters either way. And it does give folks an alternative to HPC's Nazi paradise. === sidebar: Traffic: GEI vs. SP === === === === AN other: Trying to figure out if it is Quorky, but not sure. Yes, it was funny. For HPC the worst possible thing has just happened . . . house prices crashed! There's another one about UF and GEI joining forces, which will probably only make sense if you'd spent any time in the Off-topic forum at HPC. As for HPC, you just need to know how to handle people, don't get defensive, turn it round on them using humility they wouldn't otherwise expect. It works and is a valuable tool for using in real life. DB: I'm plenty humble on GEI - havent you noticed? The jerks on HPC create their own demons & trolls thru their "antibody" technique (of ganging up on people) which I try to short-circuit when possible on GEI. I put up with it for years - clearly a mistake ! The HPC Mods are making their own future, and it doesnt look very attractive AN other: You're a different guy on here and I can understand HPC posters winding you up. What happens to HPC.co.uk after a house price crash? I mean, what's it for? DB: HPC's moderation is very heavy on anyone they disagrees with, or who objects to their moderation policies. But while they so so very, very protective of their own Mods, they do nothing whatsoever to protect quality content from wind-ups, lies, half-truth and abuse. What tabloids are to the newspaper world, HPC is to the world of property chatboards. The future of HPC moderation ?

What happens to HPC.co.uk after a house price crash? I mean, what's it for? They will have to figure that out for themselves. By chasing away many serious posters, and making the place safe & comfortable for windup artists, they are turning the site into a great place for dog-fights and circuses. Remember the movie, Beyond Thunderdome? * From: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3hQC3nkftrk Perhaps HPC will wind up like that. Fine if you want to witness a little mindless violence, but not healthy to hang out there everyday. Life's too short to live in a village like that. *actually, I think I spotted several of HPC's regular posters in the audience for that battle. == == == But, hey, nevermind. flash harry
Hi Bubb, I've been a daily visitor on HPC for 6 years now (even on xmas day from the delivery suite of the materitiy ward!!!). Your posts were one of the main selling points of the site and were what raised the bar in terms of other sites. I'm amazed that they would remove such intellectual property rights and devalue their offering. The posts are a testament to how the site was ahead of the intellectual curve. harvipark
Hi Bubb Its obvious that the HPC ban has wound you up, but the cynic in me says that you are now seen as a threat to HPC and that is the real reason behind your banning. For years, HPC and GEI were forward looking sites (much of that down to your contributions) and sat together without too many problems. But GEI is becoming too big and is threatening HPC's dominance. On top of that GEI is still forward looking but HPC is now the subject of an historical event. Unless HPC changes its focus, it will wither on the vine. BTW, love the "Antitbody" analogy! I think the technical term for it is "Mobbing!" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mobbing

Harvipark, I suspect that you are right about that. In fact, I have been very fair to HPC, and whenever I was excerpting material from HPC, I always provided a link back. They have now banned my material there. I expect that in a few weeks or months, it will be possible to mention DrBubb, and "Crash Cruise Speed" or "Dead Cat Bounce" there. But the insecure Mods, may not be mature enough to allow links back to original GEI material, in which case HPC readers may soon realise that they need to come directly to the source. Sadly they drifted away when the unbearable white noise started and the Forum was subjected to very annoying trolling." 8 Aug.2010 / X: "When I joined in 2005, I really felt I had found something special- the quality of posting was pertinent, and the sheer expertise of the posters was quite impressive- a little daunting in fact. personally I feel the whole atmosphere has changed greatly, we all pretty much come here out of habit now- little is going to change- 180 billion saw to that. 8 Aug.2010 / F: "A better thread would be the top three with whom you don't agree. There used to be a gold thread in the main section that floated freely and it was moved, so what you are asking for existed previously and the decision was taken not to permit discussion of real money in the main discussion, only houses priced in the local currency. Ironicly houses have crashed massively since 2005* from 700 ounces to 200 ounces for the average house, so because they refused to listen to any talk of gold, they missed out on the HPC and only got a currency crash that equaled the decline in house prices! drbubb
Frank Hovis is a drunken truck driver who suffers from smelly feet. LOL. I always thought of him as "the bread man", and he got upset for calling him that once. It was a classic case of "failure of sense of humor." It wasn't like I was calling him rubbish. In fact, I thought he might have chosen that name intentionally since Bread = Money in some slang. Maybe a truck driver WOULD get offended by such a thing.
